This would not be a bad Add-on if it weren't for a few things:
1. It was installed without my knowledge by Windows Update
2. It leaves the option to run ClickOnce apps without asking me enabled by default, which is a HUGE security hole

I acknowledge how useful ClickOnce support can be (though I've never had a reason to use a ClickOnce app), and I can even let my first point slide, since Microsoft is far from the only software developer that bundles stuff like that with updates, but having it set by default to just run any ClickOnce application it comes across without asking me first is unexcusable. I know it provides a way to set it to ask me first, but how many people will go into their settings and change that option, if they even realize it installed? ClickOnce applications require authentic security certificates to run, but how long will it take for some skilled programmer to discover how to falsify a certificate and attach it to a virus or other malicious code?

Having no need for ClickOnce support, I uninstalled it. It was just taking up space.

Get rid of this add-on Rated 1 out of 5 stars

This add-on takes special know how to remove it. It embeds itself and unless you know where to look to get rid of it you're stuck with it. Oh, and by the way it is just another piece of spyware from Micro$oft.
It not only should be removed from this collection, but the entire Mozilla site. (I don't like security risks or spyware...)

I uninstalled this thing. Now, Firefox doesn't crash and it actually runs faster. I didn't know that this was what caused the problems. I can't believe that this was installed without my prior knowledge. Darn it, Microsoft!

Works as advertised, handles ClickOnce deployment nicely. No need to switch to IE to install ClickOnce apps like Google Chrome.

Re: coldacid

Actually, Mozilla did think of that. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=522777 This extension is a security risk for all Windows users.

The rating is to counter the trolls; I'd really only give it maybe three stars to be honest, but trolls and zealots piss me off more than this extension does.

1. The reason this extension even exists is so that people can't complain that Microsoft's trying to be anti-competitive and make ClickOnce work only with their own browser. All you complainers do is put MS between a rock and a hard place; they don't provide this extension and you'll complain that they're being anti-competitive. They provide it and you complain that they're trying to sabotage you. Grow up.

2. This extension does not make Firefox crash, it doesn't eat up all your memory or cause problems if you're not using ClickOnce. Yeah, it was a bum move by Microsoft to just toss it in the machine-global extensions area without asking first. But, it's up to Mozilla to make sure that extensions there can at least be disabled by non-admin users, and they didn't think of that. (Although, 3.7 and newer versions will let you know about globally installed add-ons and let you disable them at start-time.)

Before you go blaming someone else as a scapegoat, perhaps you should look at what you've done that's made them act the way they do.

Beware that every time you update your .NET Framework (possibly through Windows Update automatic notifications) you'll get a new version of this add-on. You won't get prompted and every new version will be harder to remove.

so much trouble i went through Rated 1 out of 5 stars

How could MS do this to us? What have i done to to MS to deserve this? I have been though SO MUCH TROUBLE figuring out why my computer whas crashing again, and again, and again, no matter what i did.
I was about to remove firefox when i saw this .net addon, and read all the other comments.... My system is working fine again. But MS really crossed the line this time!

This thing caused Firefox to crash multiple times each day, I removed it and no problems, I had to follow instructions to remove it since the uninstall was disabled.

Nismoto - Java Quick Starter uninstalls fine and there are multiple ways to do so. Also Java has had exceptionally few vulnerabilities and .NET has been racked with security vulnerabilities. Java is written is such a fashion to limit them(with applets using a sandbox), the .NET security model is nowhere near as robust, as evident in the vulnerabilities. BTW, I was fully patched and the uninstall button was disabled.

I run NoScript and a flash blocker, why would I want software from the vendor who pays the least attention to security, that is why I'm running Firefox in the first place.

Dear 'Nismoto',
I don't like being called 'Chicken Little', but I have to add to the kind of comments you hate so much. I never asked for this Add-on, since I have no use for it, although I believe it is probably useful for some. But now I have it there - version 1.0, and it says: "Not compatible with Firefox 3.5.2". The uninstall button you praise so much is greyed out. Please tell me how I can uninstall this Malware (if it gets there without my OK, it IS Malware!).

Yahoo was broken before I uninstalled this app Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I kept getting some strange error like 999 or something and the yahoo mail buttons didn't work. Other sites just seemed not to work properly either. Also my browser seemed much slower than usual. I uninstalled this add-on and everything worked fine. I never agreed to this addon. It didn't seem to do anything good for me. Anything that installs without letting you know it is malware. No ifs ands or buts.

Terrible. Add-ons shouldn't be allowed to be installed without explicit permission. Add-ons should have a working uninstall button. Beware.

Hole in Firefox? Rated 1 out of 5 stars

If this can be installed with out user permission, does this mean there is a hole that can be exploited by other deceitful companies/people?

Be aware that this extension cannot be uninstalled unless you hack in the Windows registry and remove some files manually.
