Very poorly written extension. Out of the box, I could only get the MP3's to launch external player. All others were still trying to download first. Wave files actually function worse than the Apple plugin. The configuration is a total mess.
do not use this update . it's have many bugs.i download this and i cant associate file type with players. use. "media player connectivity 0.8.0".it works great for me.
I've been using Firefox for a long time. The *only* thing I was using IE for was to watch videos at CNN.com. Thanks to this addon I no longer have to use IE for *anything*! It's quick and simple to install and works flawlessly with the default settings from the install. Thank you *so* much for this little marvel! I'll be telling everyone I know that uses FF about this addon.
U are a life saver. I need this because i use Linux, and some streams in realplayer are embedded and the real player doesn't have full screen. Now i can do this because it runs in realpleayer standalone.
Great extension. My only wish is that it would auto-detect Miro if it's installed on the user's computer.
It doesn't work with Netscape 9.
This thing worked for me on two private sites which had previously alluded any of my capture tactics. I registered here specifically to say thanks, it works well for me. OnYah...
all this plugin does is copy the URL of the embed tag and send it to your chosen media player. you can do this yourself! it does NOT actually change how the movies are embedded. for example, I chose VLC for all movie types... it doesn't use VLC to embed the movies, it just opens them in VLC (and doesn't work half the time).
Great extension, helps me on Linux to play some videos. One bad thing is, it probably has conflict with POTO Sidebar extension.
this is a good extension which I am using in Linux to playback videos from the BBC/Doctor Who website, which would not otherwise play. I wanted to download the videos too, but could not get that to work. Any suggestions for what extra software to have to make it work? I tried to configure this to use KGet and then cUrl, but neither would let me download. When I just wanted to play, they played okay in Xine. But how to download? I normally use the Firefox extension Down Them All to download videos, or else Download Helper extension, but neither of them can be specified in the configuration section as download managers.
I love it! A must have Plugin!! Thank you!
Fabulous extension! I needed some way to play tiny embedded streamed videos in the normal resizeable media player, and this did it quick and easy. Being able to save other media files (non-streamed) is a nice bonus.
And dude, it does work with cnn.com video just fine (tested with some .asx there).
I installed this MediaPlayerConnectivity add-on to see if I can get the Windows Media-based video at CNN.com to work. It didn't, so I quickly uninstalled it.
