Simple but effective Rated 5 out of 5 stars
TL;DR right click on the target page.
Really useful add on. It worked also for HTML5 media. Something Network Analyzer under the Inspector couldn't give me. The operation is a bit quirky and could be more clear. Basically, the toolbar icon is just to activate the plug-in (coloured: active, greyed out: inactive) and show the number of media elements on the page. To save a source, though, you have to right click anywhere on the page and select the source from the context menu.
Worked for me Rated 4 out of 5 stars
Worked for me, but the interface could be smoother.
Can be improved Rated 3 out of 5 stars
I see clickable icon, but im not sure what means if its monochrome or colour. it does nothing when i click it.
Also i would welcome if there is menu entry to download all media on the page (im on mp3 playlist and album has 20 tracks, so to download them all..)
allow video to mp3 conversion

not sure what happen. it just stopped working....so i reset firefox, reinstalled media sniffer, worked fine... then added my other addons just image zoom and adblocker. went to test media sniffer and it stopped working again. maybe the new firefox? also, the update was supposed to have an icon, i dont see it anywhere.
reverted back to an older version and its working now. newest version seems to have issues.
I was wrong - it does really work! Rated 4 out of 5 stars
The instructions for Media Sniffer are unclear because English is not the developers first language. You are required to right click on a link to the page with the video, or the video window and the right click context menu should show you something like this:
If you left click on this entry the URL to the video will be copied to the clipboard, and it will be like this:
You can then paste the URL into a media player that accepts URL sources, such as Media Player Classic Home Cinema, and then the video will play in the media player with the decoder of your choice, and you can enjoy effective hardware acceleration and no more Flashplayer crashing. This is a lot easier to use than trying to detect the video URL with a network sniffer like Wireshark.
There is a program that enables you to perform the same function with Youtube videos called SVPTube, so Media Sniffer's value is to extend this capability for other Video sites.
I have tried Media Sniffer with live streams like ABC News LIVE and Euronews LIVE, but it does not work with these types of sources.
Tested with Pale Moon browser and Mozilla Firefox.
However, this is that it can not be helped.
Live broadcast of the video is not available.
This is no exception other Firefox add-on.
This kind of video can be recorded with software called "Livestreamer"
Button is not, it will be displayed on the page area context menu.
