- Rated 2 out of 5by Yandong, 2 days agoI reported two problems three months ago, and they're still not resolved as of version 0.4.10:
1. If you use it to preview an online PDF document and click the URL, it will open Google instead of the PDF.
2. Pages previewed by MaxFocus will not go into browser history, please provide an option to make it also appear in browser history. - Rated 5 out of 5by Neikon, 8 days agoIt's really cool to be able to open articles without leaving Feedly, or open links without leaving Reddit, watch videos on youtube without going back and forth. Keep in mind that the free version is 50 previews per day. But the pro version can be paid for life and is cheap.
- Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 18576531, 8 days agoHaven't been able to use a browser without installing this first.
- Rated 1 out of 5by Shiftoss, 22 days agoYeah... paywalling basic functionality is not too great. I'm also sick of every single piece of software pushing some kind of AI, if I see that I'm even more tempted to uninstall just because of that...
Edit: the fake reviews on their site also don't make me like them more... (https://maxfoc.us/welcome/?step=4&isPayment=1&plan=pro_lifetime_a)Developer response
posted 21 days agoHi Shiftoss,
We offer a free plan for basic use—AI is optional.
All the reviews on our site are real and clickable if you want to explore them further. If you have any doubts, we’re here to listen. - Rated 5 out of 5by Firefox user 18380746, a month ago

- Rated 1 out of 5by Ecys, 2 months agoLocking features behind a paywall, on a browser extension...?
You can only open 25 links if you don't want to buy the cheapest plan for $15.90. And even if you pay, those searches won't have the AI features they are talking about.
For AI features you need to buy their pro plan, which is supposedly $49.90! This is a joke!Developer response
posted 2 months agoHello, Ecys.
Thanks for your feedback.
We do offer a free plan that lets you open up to 25 previews per day. If you need more, we have two paid plans: Pro without AI and Pro, both with a one-time payment. It's not a subscription—you pay once and use it forever.
The prices you mentioned are without discounts, which are clearly shown on our website. We provide discounted rates to make it more affordable. The AI features are included in the Pro plan for added value. - Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 12143476, 2 months ago

"You've reached your daily limit of 10 link previews. Upgrade to PRO to get unlimited previews and more features"Developer response
posted 2 months agoHi Hulio,
Thanks for your feedback. The daily limit of 10 link previews helps us manage resources.
Upgrading to the PRO version gives you unlimited previews and extra features. - Rated 3 out of 5by AJ, 3 months agoGreat add-on, but unfortunately caps daily usage unless you upgrade to PRO.
Locking premium features behind a paywall is one thing but locking basic features behind them when they weren't locked in previous versions of the extension is unfortunate. - Rated 1 out of 5by Mario, 3 months agoThis extension was good when is released, now is totally trash, always when I open any links i got at the bottom right some AI suggestion, I don't want use AI why is this extension forced you to do that ?

I thought this upgrade ONLY for use AI Summaries or some customizations?
If so, it's useless. :/ - Rated 5 out of 5by Mrigank 🔷, 3 months ago

Can't wait to see app implemented on Android! - Rated 5 out of 5by A:uxer, 3 months agoamazing app! suggestion: add "drag" the link to trigger it. and I found some not perfect
1.cant login github inside popup in discord.
2. in some page like www.ithome.com, the page will change when trigger, is it possible to keep the page?
updated:
thanks your quickly updated and response. And I thought you should add a clear NOTICED that preview function is also need to buy or subscribe, not only the settings label with "PRO". Yeah, I hope add free/lifetime version without AI or some advanced functions.Developer response
posted 3 months agoThank you! The 'drag' feature is now available.
1. You can enable third-party cookies (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/third-party-cookies-firefox-tracking-protection) to be able to login inside popup, but we don't recommend this as it may allow other websites to track you
2. Apologies for this issue. We'll look into it and see what can be done - Rated 5 out of 5by pnhan, 3 months agoWow, great ideas and it's works seamlessly!!
Just thought about that and tried a search then found it!!
So magical!
And it's also a bit surprising for me why someone hasn't done it sooner with an idea like this..
I'm so lucky I came across it when I was just thinking about it x) - Rated 4 out of 5by vuuuc, 3 months agoGood addon, only two things that annoy me badly.
1. The background blur when you hover over the module. I would love to be able to turn that off. It is so distracting. Also it makes every dark page brighter, which negates darkmodes.
2. Not sure what this AI input field is for. It feels very much out of place and forced into this addon. Just to sell AI. It would be a much cleaner functionality without it. It also makes it feel super sketchy. Reminds me of the crypto times where crypto was put in everything and most of it turned out to be scams. It has the same feel to it.Developer response
posted 3 months agoThanks for your feedback! We're glad you like the addon overall.
In version 0.3.2, you can now disable the background blur and dimming in the settings. We've also redesigned the popup to make the AI features less distracting. - Rated 3 out of 5by aquarius, 4 months agoWorks nicely but unfortunately phones home (maxfocus.us) each time it is used. I've tried blocking the home server system-wide, MaxFocus extension still works but delivers an incorrect rendering. IMO phoning home appears as necessary for technical reasons (fine tuning previewed page rendering from their servers rather than with the extension itself) rather than led by deliberate privacy intrusion, yet the fact remains : MaxFocus servers know every site the user visits when the extension is used.
MaxFocus Privacy Policy at https://maxfoc.us/privacy-policy/ is clear.Developer response
posted 4 months agoHello!
For some websites to work correctly, we use a link unshortening service, as these links do not redirect in an iframe. Due to this, our extension covers the maximum supported websites and links. We do not proxy or render content on the server side, as it is not necessary or technically possible due to the website's internal protection (CSRF tokens, http-only cookies).
As our Privacy Policy states, we do not store any information about the websites the user visits. - Rated 5 out of 5by marcosteam, 4 months ago
