Works Well Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This add on makes it easy to mail from a website, without having to install an email program. I wish I found it earlier :)

Thanks for the review! :)

Not working with Outlook.com Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Recently Outlook.com underwent extensive revision. The email link in Chrome continued to work, but MailtoWebmails no longer works in Firefox. It worked fine before the revision, so I'll give it a tentative four stars.

Thanks very much rewins for this. I have been after outlook support for awhile to give me their new link. Can you please figure out what link Chrome is using and email me at noitidart@gmail.com or add it to this topic here on the issues tracker - https://github.com/Noitidart/MailtoWebmails/issues/42

Must have email addon Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This add on makes it easy to mail from a website, without having to install an email program. I wish I found it earlier :)

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.3).

Thanks very much for your review and your sentiments. I agree with it. I recently saw an addon like this for other browsers and saw it was very very popular. I wish I could get MailtoWebmails out to public, not for my addons popularity, but because users need it.

Should be a basic firefox feature: open mailto link with a web service rather than an external software Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Works well with the one I've tested: Yahoo.
Maybe you could add more options (switching between external app and webservice, switching between webservices easily) , but good one.
I love the fact that the dev seems to reply the reviews, it proves he is implicated.

Didn't work as expected. Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Clicked Firefox's "Email Link" button. It DID open my mailbox @ Outlook.com, but not the compose new mail page.

Hi there John, may you please open a topic on the support page, I'm hoping to fix this so it works for you as well.

The support page is on github - https://github.com/Noitidart/MailtoWebmails/issues

Can you upload a screenshot of what happened when you clicked the link. It may be that the Outlook.com service email needs updating.

Very useful service Rated 4 out of 5 stars

The settings page looks like a website instead of an integrated Firefox addon.
Missing feature to choose to open webmail client in another tab/window.

EDIT: Thanks for your reply; pressing right-click or middle-mouse-click solved my issue.
Found an issue; when clicking on your mail link on https://github.com/Noitidart/ with Outlook active it will open Outlook with "%6e%6f%69%74%69%64%61%72%74@%67%6d%61%69%6c.%63%6f%6d" as to mail.

Thanks jerone for the review! :)

The addon just registers different services for the mailto protocol handler. Basically it does this - https://developers.google.com/web/updates/2012/02/Getting-Gmail-to-handle-all-mailto-links-with-registerProtocolHandler - so I'm not changing the internals, of like opening in a new window. You should be able to open in a new window though, simply right click and say open in new window.

One internal thing I do have to change though, is some services dont strip out the "mailto:" prefix, so I have to modify that internally.

A pleasure to use! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This addon works perfectly and its settings page is nicely designed, self explanatory but still concise.

FABULOUS Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Took too long to resolve my issue, but very happy to find this add-on. Windows 7 64bit. Love Firefox and procrastinating on installing Windows 10.

I love your add-on, I'm using Gmail, I was looking for a gmail handler for mailto on the web sites I browse, I found this

Thanks very much for your review, which webmail service are you using?

Very cool! :) The GMail one actually ships default with Firefox but it isn't so obvious on how to change it. So this addon helps a bit with that too. :)
