Too bad it doesnt work with Hushmail though.... :/

3.5 already has it Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Tip: In FF3.5macFinal it's not in "Tools > Options > Application > Search Mailto", but in "Preferences > Applications > search 'mailto' > Action: Use other..." etc.

Not Necessary for Yahoo or Gmail Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Add-on isn't really necessary for Yahoo and Gmail anymore. Both of those are are supported in Firefox by default.

Tools > Options > Application > Search Mailto

This kind of feature should be included as a default option in
all future additions of Firefox. I have no idea why they didn’t
include this kind of feature in past additions of Firefox except
maybe because they wonted to promote the use of Thunderbird. A
5++ add-on for sure.

Exactly what I was looking for. From craigslist fills in the subject and address right into Yahoo mail. Saves me a ton of time!

The Mozilla / Firefox folks ought to consider the practical efficacy of in solutions which "fill the gaps" which exist-- as someone points out earlier-- for years (ahem... paradigm shift... isn't that a mozilla buzzword, after all??) -- instead of investing people-hours (man-hours, whatever) in the horrendously boring game of one-upmanship, which manifests in features like the "Awesome Barre" (fantastic prohibition), while the end-user, lifting the jaw from the table, "where did that come from!?"-- and still fussing w/ the mailto links! ha! hmm... what's the W3C's position on the func of mailto? hmph! that's worthy of a bit o' research. thank you! oh yeah-- 5 stars for simple, practical functionality providing an exponential quality-of-life improvement.

Mailfrom works great with firefox 3! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

It's a great relief to be able to click a mailto link and not have Outlook Express come up. Woohoo! Works fine on the latest version of Firefox, too (3.0.6 at time of writing)

Finally! Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This add-on aptly solves one of the most pernicious nuisances to plague browser and webmail use for years running now.

Works good so far but it would be cool if you could open a new tab for the mail by clicking on the mail link too :)

Had trouble getting it to work till I realized that I had to go into Tools/Options/Applications and select Yahoo to handle mailto links. Setting the add-on's own option doesn't do it. This should be better documented.

I withdraw my previous negative review. I discovered that I had to specify the add-on in the Applications area of the main FF Options, and not just in the add-on's own options.

This should be better documented.

Finally! After spending hours searching the options on my browser, looking at techie sites and trying to follow googled instructions that just weren't helping, a simple download worked!! All I wanted was to be able to change my default e-mail which is ridiculously difficult if you use a web-based service as Windows does not allow for this in the control panel. Thank goodness for this add-on - it saved my sanity!
