macfox3 Version History
Be careful with old versions!
These versions are displayed for reference and testing purposes. You should always use the latest version of an add-on.
- find bar styling is now fixed,
- click-to-play has been changed by Mozilla again and the theme has been adapted,
- HTML5 video player controls are rendered properly,
- some "about:" pages are fixed,
- some new location bar and notification area icons covered,
- preferences window has now the right size (well, it doesn't have a wrong size).
The changes in this version of macfox3 are triggered by the new feature of Firefox, that lets the user activate plugins (Flash for instance) by clicking on them, which demands some styling. I've improved the general looks of location bar notifications as well.
This version is adjusted to changes that took place in Firefox 20, i.e. new download manager. There are also some fixes in the Inspector.
I followed the editor's reccomendations after v2.0.7 which didn't make it through the review. Also I fixed the looks of secondaryPane in menu, which stopped working some time ago (I still don't know why).
I have finally added styles for an Inspect Element tool as well as for few other developer tools. Some minor changes were made, like the geolocation icons are now showing, when site requires our location. Also style for new tab has been added.
All that is taken from standard Firefox theme.
From now on macfox 3 looks well with dark gtk themes (a light font in menus was an issue). I have also added the little triangle thing on the left side of the location bar (you can see that when firefox asks, if it should remember a password).
In macfox 2.0.3 I have made the orange menu button look better (on Linux). There is also an improvement in looks of the menu itself.
Macfox3 2.0.2 is the version, that finally works with Firefox4 on Windows. Looks pretty for me!
Macfox3 now works quite well on Linux. Unfortunately, on Windows it looks reasonably only when menu bar visible.
Some minor repairs have been made in macfox3 1.1.7
Version 1.1.6 provides very many changes. Most of them are invisible or hardly visible in everyday use, like one, that the textboxes are now defined via pure css - not using images.
What you can see, are the two pop-ups from Location Bar (bookmark editing pop-up and the security one). There is also the extended security information on the left of the location bar. I've also sanitized pageinfo window, bookmark/history editing window, extensions window and many other things.
The source of most knowledge and much code, I applied to macfox3 1.1.6 is an add-on "macfox_nostalgia", which is very similar to mine, written in a much better way, but I find it a little to dark.
Toolbar is modified to look exactly the same, as the original macfox's one.
There are small and normal size toolbar icons in macfox 1.1.3. I also took care of the quick-bookmarking icon in a location bar, which now looks better (it's taken from a linux default theme, not a mac one anymore). There is, finally, no ugly one pixel bar under bookmarks toolbar, which I didn't like.
There are a few changes in macfox3 1.1.2. Firstly, the searchbar text colour is, as it should be now (which was shockingly hard to make) and secondly, when watching movies in fullscreen, we may now not be disgusted by state of control buttons.
Macfox3 1.1.1 is almost the same as 1.1 version. It has only hover button text made darker, because eviljeff didn't like that before, and he has got a power of reviewing here.
Macfox3 1.0.5 is the first version of my theme that can be easily installed on Firefox 3.6b1pre (it needed me understanding this chrome.manifest things). It has also recognition as theme fixed.
