No longer working, status? Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Is this going to be fixed? I am using "Simple URL Extender", but it needs me to right click the link to extend.

Yes, it does work. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Contrary to what user Prozaque is asserting below, it does work perfectly fine. I was unsatisfied with the original "Long URL Please" because it doesn't support Bitly's j.mp shortcuts. Of course you may not notice any difference when you're just testing it with the URL shorteners that are already supported by the original add-on. Even in this case though it works just as well as the original one.

Duplicate extension that does nothing. Someone should really start removing all these POCs

I used to use a couple bookmarklets to expand short urls but they stopped working. Then I found this addon and it works way better!

This fixed my issue with the original add-on. Thanks.

--Like a wilted flaccid flower, this addon did NOTHING in my Ffox 3.5.2
--I installed, restarted, opened Addons panel . . . no "Preferences" button for this addon.
--Right-clicked on a Bit.ly link in Twitter . . . nothing. No "LongURLPleaseMod" menu item anywhere.
--Zero stars.

--10 minutes later: I went to Addons panel again . . . hey! "Long URL Please Mod 0.5.1" had popped a "Preferences" button.
--"Lengthen short urls when every page loads" is TICKED. . . . Reloaded Twitter page . . . Bit.ly links still shortened . . . right-clicked on link == nothing; no "Long URL Please Mod" menu item.
--Clicked on "Tools" menu . . . nothing; no "Long URL Please Mod" menu item.

Twitter issues

There are some issues with the new Twitter Interface, which works with AJAX (heavily JavaScript based, which does asynchron calls to the twitter server), which makes it not work with the twitter website anymore. It worked before with the old twitter design, but twitter removed it a few months ago.

You can test the functionality of the plugin on the testsite I use when adding new short url services, which can be found at

Very good addon. I want to say that it would be even more useful if it works combined with addons such as "linkification" that I use a lot.

You should show a list of services you added in this mod. And please add this crappy and so annoying "adf.ly"!

Works perfectly with Aurora 8.0a2

Great addon! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is a great addon, I love it! Keep up the good work.

But I have a small request too, could you also add support for voom.in short url service? (for example: http://voom.in?to=S4Gfvs)

Edit: wow, that was fast! Thanks

worthy successor of Long Url Please! I've used it for years and was a bit disappointed that many of the newer short url weren't expanded. They all work with this modifications!

keep up the good work.

@Sharma: I've tried your too, but to be honest, it really sucks that you have to right click on the link to see where it leads! This addon replaces all urls almost instantly. No extra works required
