I like the idea, but what I really want is the ability to click part of the URL (e.g. just the domain name) in the location bar's pull-down list. I didn't get on with the interface either: if I'm holding down shift or ctrl the link opens in a new tab/window, which I don't want to happen!

Very helpful Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This add-on really is a great help. It makes navigating and browsing much easier and quicker. I fully agree with an earlier reviewer: FF should have this feature built in. - Thanks for this, it's marvellous!

I like this one. I think you should give it a try, 'cause it's a new method of working with the location bar. I find it pretty nice. I especially like the segments - just click and you're on the way..

After having been pointed to this by an article on LifeHacker.com, I cannot live without it.

It's not working with 3B5 yet, so I'm feeling it everyday.

It is flawless in its execution. It should be part of FF's base code.

Nice tweak Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Been working with it for a week and didn't encounter any problems yet. love the fading effect :)
All in all not a bad idea.

I love this extension, but... Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I would like compatibility with WellRounded too.

I guess compatibility with Fission and this would have to be in WellRounded. But far from the point I'm trying to make.

Now, what I see in this extension is greatness. And lots of it. I can combine this with IE Tab or User Agent Switcher and fall back two levels real fast.

This extension increases productivity somewhat, the breadcrumbs look good and... it just works.

Also, kudos on the Favicon support

very elegant small Add-on Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Hides the things in the url, i dont need. But if i need it, it's just a small mousemove over the Adressbar and back, followed by one click...

Increases usability very much, good job !

Breaks functionality Not yet rated

I like the plug-in, but the website icon (favicon.ico) that normally appears next to a website's URL in the address/location bar disappears when you mouseover the address. That breaks the drag-and-drop functionality of adding websites to your bookmark list or dragging them to save to your desktop. I use that functionality every day, and so cannot use this plug-in (v0.9.1).

A worthwhile idea Rated 3 out of 5 stars

We need to find elegant ways to draw the users' attention to the domains they are accessing. SSL certificates only work if A) the user verifies the domain they are visiting, B) they are wary of certificate warnings as a sign of attack.

However, I think the way Locationbar2 shifts the URL information around would be more unsettling than clarifying to most people. If I were designing such an add-on, I would take a simpler approach and simply make the non-domain parts grey (or else, render only the domain in dark-red, bold lettering).

The de-escaping feature is a keeper.

But I am sorry I just cannot agree with a re-working of URL display that results in something that looks like the following:
----
slashdot.org comments.pl
----

What is the user supposed to think after they have arrived at this page from an off-site link? That they are viewing a site called "comments.pl"?

I sincerely hope this is not going to be the default for Firefox 3, as I fear it would add confusion not alleviate it.

Great addon for phishing detection Rated 4 out of 5 stars

It's a great plugin and I have written my review on

http://sunnywu.net/2007/08/23/locationbar2-firefox-plugin-quick-review-great-for-phishing-detection/

especially good for casual computer users to detect phishing scam.

Would appreciate if there can be a "select all+copy" option in the preferences so when I click on the address bar, it will automatically copy the whole address into the clipboard.

Very good, but needs to be more customizable Rated 4 out of 5 stars

It should be possible to disable percent-encoding-decoding feature, because this feature, usually is very good for users, but no all the time for developers, I have to see the dirty URL sometimes to discover a problem.

It changes too much Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This is a very useful extension, however, it is too good to us in my opinion: It should be possible to configure it in a way that you only use its percent-encoding-decoding feature. The rest, in particular the greying out of the protocol, the slashs, and the options in the URL is irritating and superfluous to me. However, it cannot be switched off as far as I can see.

Almost perfect but... Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I love the addon sooo much. I can't believe this wasn't made before. The only thing is, i would like it compatible with Well Rounded. If you made it with that, it will be the best addon ever.

Unicode Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Great! Seems to work as long as it's unicode, so now I nearly allways know I know where I'm going looking at the statusbar.
Note: Opera and Safari do this too, by default...
