Glad to be back. I used to use this (perhaps on Fx < 28 or so), and later I changed to Advanced Locationbar.
Now that I have to choose Pale Moon thanks to the non-sense WebExtensions, and Locationbar² is back on the list.
Unable to type over url address.
Any email address to creator available?
I have been using Locationbar² since way back to Firefox version 2. The bold & colored domain name with breadcrumbs made the address bar look cooler. Now I finally encounter compatibility issues in version 44 and must remove it. It's been a good ride (close to 10 years already?) and I'll miss it. Great extensions come and go.
There is now a slash through the first character in the url. Can not highlight, select, copy, or paste anything in urlbar anymore. Going to try Advanced Locationbar addon. It was nice knowing ya Locationbar²!
Why does it add a slash on the first character in the adress bar?
Advanced Locationbar is a fork of this extension. It works in Firefox 44+.
No longer works in Firefox 44. Hoping Dao might find the time to update it, but it's not looking likely...
Highly useful extension, makes navigating through domains much easier (and quicker) and greatly improves the functionality of the location bar.
It should be a native (built-in) Firefox feature, too bad that is now broken in Firefox 44.
Locationbar³ is a nice replacement (and it works in Firefox 44) but IMO still lacks some of the features of its predecessor.
When this add-on does not work, it is very inconvenient.
Please to improve.
The change that broke this addon on the Developer Edition has now made its way onto the beta channel as well, and would soon make its way to the stable version. I hope it gets fixed soon, as its one of my most thoroughly used and indispensable addons!
This is one of my favorite extensions for years. Absolutely must have. But I can't use it anymore in Firefox Developer Edition 44.0.a2, because it disables the location bar entirely. Sooo bad.
Anyways, thank you for this work !
This is an extremely helpful add-on that I've been using for years. But as they say, "the better is the enemy of the good" - that's why I switched to the fork "Advanced Locationbar", which linkifies domain and subdomain separately so you can easily move from "subdomain.domain.org" to "domain.org". A few years ago, I was happy to give Locationbar² five stars, but now I have to downgrade it to four stars out of fairness to the Advanced Locationbar developer. Still, this is the original and as such deserves credit in its own right.
I've been using this extension for years and it's still my favorite of its kind. I should be like every idiot out there and simply say that "It's the best!"
My compagnon since a long time!
utilisation simple, compacte
It works well in Firefox 31, with one minor bug I found:
The setting, 'Breadcrumb for ...' doesn't work. Whether I choose 'host' or 'each segment', it shows breadcrumbs between each segment.
But overall, I love it. Thank you Dao!
Permet facilement de descendre dans des sous-éléments parents de l'URL. Simple et efficace.
Очень полезное и удобное дополнение, постоянно пользуюсь. Отлично работает.
* Ctrl-click opens breadcrumb in new tab
* Shft-click opens breadcrumb in new window
* Alt-click opens breadcrumb in current tab
* Domain highlighting, coloring, bolding and selection are all okay
* Protocol hiding works fine—even irc:// and gopher:// can be hid if used alongside ChatZilla and Overbite
* Autocomplete seems to work just fine for me (@https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/locationbar%C2%B2/reviews/474478/)...I guess the bug was resolved, erm, in the latest updates of Firefox maybe?
Simple looks, and complex functionality
I like it) Simple, but nice functionality
The autocomplete dropdown vanishes.. I hope the dev updates :(
when mouse hovers over address, it becomes plain text without formatting.
