The Answer to My Prayers!!! Rated 4 out of 5 stars

As a power user with 50 tabs open on a tiny netbook with 1 GB RAM and 1 GHz CPU on a regular basis, this is a godsend! For the simplicity of what it does, I don't know why this isn't built into Firefox.

This worked on Pale Moon 24.0.2, with compatibility workarounds (a clean, performance-focused version of Firefox). You can use checkCompatibility or Configuration Mania (easy setting under Add-On tab) extensions to bypass the compatibility check.

I wish it had a few more options, though, like auto-load first page in background, load second page when click on first one, show unloaded tabs with page titles, ability to change unloaded tab transparency, etc.

0.9.9 works with latest 28.0a2 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I frequently open many links of search results or galleries at ones and with this add-on they don't load immediately, only when I select them. Just great!

I do not understand why this behavior is not already built into Firefox.

Please update this add-on for new FF version T_T

Works after some tweaking. Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I am using Load Tabs Progressively 1.6.2pre on Firefox 26. I also had to fix version of Firefox in the extension package for it to work. And as others, I wish that somebody would take over this extension since setup hacks will not work forever.

Version 0.9.9 not working either Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I just tested version 0.9.9 with Fx 24 and it didn't work. Tabs were loading one by one but settings had no effects and I couldn't get the original behavior (=tabs get loaded in advance when you read unread tabs). Too bad. "Don't load tabs until selected" sucks because you have to wait every single time you select a tab. Useless option IMO.

Someone should continue or fork this! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thanks developer for many years with this great add-on. Unfortunately, it seems that he/she lacks time and/or motivation to continue this. Since this is indispensable and very useful add-on for many people, I hope someone with knowledge and more time will continue development or fork this add-on, because none of the alternatives work exactly this way.

Thank you for this extension. This was a valuable addon when it worked.. Lack of compatibility with updated versions of firefox -version 24- means its unusable. this is quite a loss. Hopefully an update will come soon.

Please update. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Not Compatible with Firefox 23 ):
Should need this addon, the feature should be built-in Firefox. It's an important feature if round trip is 300mn or greater and your opening a billion tabs at once.

Ultimatively useful addon Rated 5 out of 5 stars

It fully works for me (FF, 16.01) and together with provides the possibility to proceed sequentially dozens of links/bookmarks without memory/CPU overloading.
So, this addon is useful not only for weak CPUs, but even for powerful CPU when you need to proceed many links (for example, open all bookmarks in folder containing 30 bookmarks)

It's been ages and still no update :(

LTP 0.9.9 still works with FF 22.0 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

LTP 0.9.9 will still work with FF 22.0. It is classified as "incompatible", so you need to do a workaround in about:config to disable compatibility check and make it work (google it for instructions). Note that this needs to be re-done each time FF is updated.

Works great, but not in Firefox 22 Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I've had this addon for some time, and it was working well, and keeping my memory use low because I use a lot of tabs and I don't close them all when I exit.

After the upgrade to Firefox 22, memory use went way up, resulting in frequent crashes, because this addon is no longer compatible.

I also tried 0.9.9 and found that it works :)
I have not tried higher version numbers to find the latest working version, though.

BarTabBeta, muggle2; could either of you provide the link to Version 0.9.9

IT WORKS! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

OK I managed to get full functionality of this extension, at least for me. All thanks to muggle from mozillaZine forums ( ). I just installed old 0.9.9 version and everything works as before: I always have second tab loaded after I finish reading first one, and third one automatically load itself after I close first and switch to second. But, I don't know will this old version clash with some of your addons.

Also, remember to disable auto-update of this addon.

to muggle2: thanks once again! But I don't understand this part of comment:

"You should "not" have 3 Tabs opening..?
(" ixquick..IT"..)
This is a Hard coded function in Firefox (20.+) .. Than can be silence and/or limited.."

Please write it in better english :D. I use this addon in this way: I'm on reddit for example, and I want to open 5 links in new tabs. Before this addon, it would load all 5 tabs/links at the same time, but with this addon I configured it to load just first tab, and immediately after I switch to it addon starts to load second one and so on.

I looked at TabMixplus before, and read its help-page, but I don't need it for anything. All other options you mentioned above I already had disabled.

The only problem with this addon is that it loads pinned tabs when starting Firefox.
