Loved this add-on. Significant memory saver when opening multiple tabs. Unfortunately is "Not compatible with Firefox Quantum." This one add-on is why I hesitated to upgrade to Firefox Quantum. But I took the risk in hopes Quantum natively managed multiple tabs well. Nope. Firefox Quantum hits 100% CPU usage and bottoms out with blank white windows when opening multiple tabs. If it weren't for security issues I would have rolled back to an older version of Firefox. Fortunately there is another add-on with similar name that is currently working for my install of FF Quantum. The reviews are mixed. Works for me so far. Would love to see an upgrade of this add-on though. Was super reliable.
This addon is indispensable. PLEASE update it for Quantum, PLEASE!!
Hello, can you PLEASE FIX THIS ADDON FOR COMPATIBILITY WITH QUANTUM
My thoughts about this extension are comparable to those at https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/open-link-in-silent-tab/reviews/911870/ about Open Link in Silent Tab 0.2.5.1.
For a page that was never loaded, there's naturally neither a title nor an icon. I don't imagine an easy solution.
pls adapt this or create a new one extension with this funcional for firefox 57+
Works as advertised, but wish the new tabs would show the icon, and title of the page instead of just the URL.
Had to fiddle with Multi Links Plus settings to get it to work but just had to change the key from Shift > Alt then Alt > Shift and it works again.
The add-on works as it is expected to.
It just would be great if the add-on showed the tab names and icons of the newly-opened unloaded-yet tabs as if they were already loaded, instead of just showing the URL.
On Windows XP, whenever your computer restarts, all your slow video tabs are reloaded. I call this a failure.
Does exactly what I wanted
A must have!
Hi. I absolutely love this, as I do often have too many tabs open, so doing anything to minimize memory usage and preventing FF crashes is a must.
Can you please include an option to open a tab without loading until select in the context menu with right click instead of it being default for all new tabs? That would be awesome
Thank you so much!
i called 3 times Firefox hot-line and nothing, there's only a bunch of stupid who called me back from india, completely dumb, they know nothing.
i was looking for a way to do it and here you are, thanks again. Bravo!
Please make this addon compatible with firefox v40.x
Seems it not work with pinned tabs - have no effect. So 3 stars
Issue: when this addon is activated, click on a link while holding Ctrl. The link is then opened in a new tab but not loaded. Now click on the new tab to load it (page 1), and click on any link to open a new page (page 2) in the same tab. Now restart Firefox. Then page 1 will be restored instead of page 2. All information about page 2 is lost. This problem occurs when this addon is the only installed addon. It even occurs when you close page 2 and restore by Ctrl+Shift+T; page 1 will actually be restored.
The addon works as expected, no complains. A nice improvement would be showing the page title in the tab label, instead of the page URL.
Thank you, developer!
install, work, easy
Works! The ONLY method I've found to recreate the functionality of the abandoned BarTab extension. New version confirmed in FF 38.0.1.
One feature request (from BarTab): the ability to whitelist websites so they always load immediately. This would make LOAD TAB perfect.
Works exactly as described. I specifically tested and encountered none of the bugs reported by other reviewers: restarting Firefox didn't list unloaded tabs as 'new tab's, bookmark folders open unloaded, 'serious issue' reported by alreadydone didn't occur. Now a button or a hotkey to turn on/off and it would be perfect.
Plz create a button to turn it off/on . That will be perfect.
does what it sais
at least, it also sets my Fox-window to always on top, strangely ....
