This is fantastic. Works for exactly what I've been searching for for weeks. This extension is a Godsend for those of us who run with fast thought patterns and need a way to keep all of the tabs but stop draining bandwidth unnecessarily. Thank you! Namaste~

No longer needed Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Firefox has this function built-in now.

3 stars because when it was needed, it did not stop tabs from loading automatically on startup. Moreover Firefox and Chrome have a glitched tab bar that erases the URL if you press stop before the tab begins loading. Opera doesn't have this issue btw.

Yes, I've already made it clear in the description that it's no longer needed. But there are still some people using older versions of Firefox who find this useful.

Great add-on, works perfectly with 9.

Doesn't Work Right in FF 9.0.1 Rated 1 out of 5 stars

The stop all tabs button stopped most tabs from loading. A second click stopped the rest. The first ones that stopped said New Tab and I could not get them to load, I thought I had lost those tabs. I Removed Load Control, restarted FF and all tabs came back okay.

Great tool for slow PCs which get bogged down with FF trying to reload multiple tabs.

I've been using this since it's been in the experimental phase. I need it very rarely, but it's a very good addon that does exactly what it says.

pls add "stop all tab" option to tab context menu , or just give us context menu entry & we will shift it to tab context menu via menu-editor

coz the process of stopping tabs from loading becomes very slow with toolbar icon method

I would like to disable the individual pause button on the tabs, because it steals the favicons. (But maybe it is a bug causes by the use of other addons).
But the stop-all-button is really great! I searched so long for this!

Lightweight. Does what it says it does.

I've also been waiting for an addon like this. I was quite disappointed no developer has thought of a simple add on like this. If you're working on this addon can you make a feature allowing only a certain number of tabs to load at once? It should be similar to the limiting number of downloads at once on the downloadthemall addon

Thanks

I love this. Only thing that would make it better is the stuff on your to-do list. Any chance of a beta I could help test with these features?

If only this could limit how many tabs load at one time...

The problem is, tab fiends like myself who have to restore hundreds of tabs at once have to put up with FF loading EVERY SINGLE TAB AT ONCE!!

This extension doesn't truly solve that problem, and frankly I found it useless. So, while the description is certainly true... I honestly expect the above with a name like Load Control.

Course, if you incorporate the above feature, I'll certainly change this review to 5 stars! :)

Big fan of Load Control, but would really appreciate if you updated your extension for the new FF version

Works great. I've been wanting an add-on like this for a while. I always have 2 to 3 rows of tabs and sometimes I just want to open Firefox and access a specific tab or new web page. Now I don't have to wait the 1 to 2 minutes for the tabs to stop taking all the resources from loading all at once.

Thanks a ton.

Did not work for me. Might be a conflict with another add-on. Will check back to see if there's a version change and try again. It looks like a very useful tool since I have to refresh several tabs each morning by right clicking on a tab and selecting refresh all tabs. This would be quicker.

Thank you for my sanity Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Right now as I type the status bar is telling me "Transferring data from addons.mozilla.org..." Well, it will say that from now till hell freezes over and the tab will show progress and the irritating spinning thing... Aaauuurrrg enough stop loading already. Undoubtedly the item that is supposed to be loaded is blocked by my extensive ad-blocking or by Spywareblaster or Spybot Search and Destroy or some other feature I have enabled, so stop loading or I will disintegrate you. LOL OK I'm done being crazy...
Thanks Charles for your aid to my sanity.
Now please put a timer on your plug in so it self-activates on any tab still loading after, say, ten minuets or even better let me choose the time.
Like "reload every" but "stop load after" kinda...
