Amazing addon!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Works with any video I tried without any issues!!! Light, simple, with essential options only, just amazing. Maybe only toolbar icon should be made to look more "modern", harmonized with Australis interface :))

Thank you for feedback. I do my best. There is a lot of work to do.... I think i change toolbar icon in the future, now this is just an add-on icon.

Great! Rated 3 out of 5 stars

This addon is essential! I would love to give this five stars since its never caused any problems but since the recent update the addon seems to break youtube videos, at least for me. I usually like to scroll through the comments as I am watching and Ive discovered that the video will go black but the audio will keep playing and the only way to fix this is to reload the page and not scroll it at all. Im not totally sure this is caused by this addon as I am not through the entire process of going through each addon one by one yet but I can't seem to find another cause so far.

Also, a very small issue with the opacity settings, the new update changed the way it darkens the page so that it can no longer be 100% black. Not a big deal but minor annoyance. Do you have any plans to bring this feature back in future releases?
(editing to add that strangely enough the recent update also changed the way the icon shows up and now on youtube the icon actually shows up inside the video player covering the play button.

HI. thanks for feedback. I can't confirm scroll thing you talking about, of course i use this add-on by myself for youtube and not having any problems. Can you provide additional info? Link to video, which version add-on you have? Please, contact me by email. You can find it on add-on page on the right side.
What about complete black option, there is no trackbar for modern looking options dialog which is used in old settings dialog and i replace it by adding 5 buttons with 5 presets, and yes there is no 100% black, there is a 25%,50%,75%,85%,95% i think in new version there is to be 25,50,75,90,100

Does the job pretty well.
Works better (for me) than the other, more popular, darkening addon.

I will give it 5* if you make a toolbar button instead of that small icon on the right top corner of the flash element. Thank you.

One of Its Kind Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is the only addon that will work for you, if you are watching a lot of video streams. It works on virtually every video out there.

It might have some small glitches here and there, but author is willing to look at every problem and try to solve it. And I want to assure you that after a while you will stop noticing that small switch icon showing up in unexpected places (like, for instance, flash menus). :))

I like this, it could use some improvements though Rated 4 out of 5 stars

In the last few days I've been trying this I have been finding it very handy. This is great for those sites that have a blindingly white page and a video you want to watch.

As for the improvements: Sticking the button on the bottom doesn't work at all. It doesn't matter if it's bottom - right, bottom - left, right - bottom or left - bottom. None of them work, though all of the other spots do. Sadly, they're all on the top. Which interferes with the buttons on the page you're on. With this button on top I find it hard not to go back to the main page, or another page on the site. This makes it really hard to watch a movie when they're site is broken, and as far as the sites is concerned you need to start the show (commercials and all) over again. To remedy this, I would fix that problem, but I would also add an optional toolbar button (NOT a toolbar since extra toolbars are evil) and a status bar button (my ultimate preference if I got my choice).

Thank you for the add-on. Even with the improvements it needs it's still nice.

Edit: Okay, lack of understanding can happen so I'll try to simplify it. The bottom button doesn't show up on pages no matter which option I choose that has bottom in it. You should add a status bar button. Thanks for reading the review, I hope the simplified version helped. :)

I dont understand nothing from what you say :) but thank you for feedback.

This add-on has a lot of potential.
Here's a few thoughts for future improvements:
Make the button on the media site optional, make it have a toolbar button. Also add a tutorial on how to integrate it with Firegestures, that would be brilliant.
Additionally, would be lovely to have a, so to say full-lights-out-mode where only the media is shown centered horizontally and vertically and the rest of the site is blacked out.
Keep working, g' luck.

I concur with Foxtail review, maybe you can have 2 option to choose from the present setting and a simple toolbar button will do. I hope you will take it into consideration and thank you for the wonderful addon.

Thank you for feedback. Not all people use a toolbars, actually i dont. Thats why LightSwitch working, like its working. Toolbar button is harder for users, they need click twice (on button and on embeded element) to "switch-off the light", thats why i am not thinking what this option is really needed. But maybe in future....

Nice challenge, nice work; but wouldn't it have been simpler (& easier) to leave the switch button as an icon on the toolbar and have it flash for instance when applicable? That would prevent any issue on pages ...

Yes it is. But this is simpler (& easier) for user and that a point. Issues on some pages i always try to fix, when users tell it to me. Thank you for feedback.

Works fine now! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Great except one thing Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I really like this addon but I have one tiny problem. I also use the extension PopVideo and the Light Switch addon overlays the light switch button on top of the PopVideo button. Any way you could add an option to move the Light Switch button to another location (like to the bottom right instead of the top right)?

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.6.2.1-signed).

Yes this feature can be useful. I will try to add it in near release.
EDIT:
Check latest 0.6.4 version
