Very likely saved my job.
I'm happy that i stumbled upon this little Addon. I hope i can kiss procrastination goodbye now and give it the boot. So far so good i added every webpage that could distract me from work and it works perfectly fine.
I hate it...but I love it...
A great product to help avoid procrastination and bad, knee-jerk clicking habits. I sent an email to my entire graduate program about this product and there were a lot of fans.
In response to review 365169, I know how to get around this, however I also know how to drive fast and break hard, wasting petrol. Inexplicably I don't do things like that very often, even if they are fun. It must be because on some level I know it's not sensible to screw yourself over just because you can. Personally, I think that being intelligent and being intent on cheating yourself are mutually exclusive.
Anyway - review. This add-on is excellent. It prevents the casual "oh I simply must shop for a DVD box set of 'Allo 'Allo right now" moments. The add-on has various options - I started by using the "let me on for 10 minutes out of every hour" option but that didn't work well for me as I kept trying the browser to see if I could get back in yet. So instead I use the set times now: I have it set to block me for five ~1h blocks over a working day with 15-30min breaks in between. I actually find that when the block releases I often can't think of anything to waste time on for the break.
Note, it does not prevent you procrastinating completely, if you are of that mindset - for example, I am procrastinating writing this review. I should be working. However it's a great aid to productivity and I've recommended to to all of my friends who are similarly plagued with time leeches.
When your work requires you to use a computer, this addon is incredible in stopping you constantly clicking all those procrastination-bookmarks.
This add-on has been very useful! It's an easy tool that helps to control your procastination times, without taking down your internet connection.
Great, but simple, add-on to boost productivity! It helped me a lot.
I'm so glad I found this! It's keeping me off the social networking sites/blog so I can stay focused on my finals!
Saving me from my Twitter addiction! Brilliant add-on. Thank you. $5 contributed in gratitude.
Best internet blocker for a person with confirmed AD/HD. I just wish there were more blocking options. I need more.
It fills my needs very good
unmistakably the best time saving addon
Excellent program, improved my productivity!!
LeechBlock is a "Must-Have" Add-on! You can set it to limit your time on any site you want or to block them if you want. I won't use the internet without it!
Are you spending too much time on Facebook with your friends and family?
Sending out twenty odd tweets a day?
Checked into 4Square again, sent a picture to Instagram?
To help against Procrastinationism there is only solution: LeechBlock. Take once a day (or more - ask your practitioner) and it'll help at once!
The best among free add-ons, even the best over all.
Very customizable and easy working with different policies.
When the Facebook catch you tightly
and you're prisoned between clicks,
when you don't chat only slightly,
like to watch too many chics.
Then your time could soon be lost
unless you install add-on - LeechBlock.
It's game changing, free of cost
and makes your life again to rock!
On days when I absolutely am dragging and read tons of news sites or any of my other time-wasting sites, Leechblock tells me to screw off and get back to work. I love it.
I'd heard of this add on quite a bit before I actually got round to setting it up. I've currently got facebook blocked after 30mins every day of the week. I need to use facebook for group communications as part of my degree so I can't turn it off completely. Leechblock forces me to just use it for the things I need to use it for rather than getting sucked into the news feed for an hour...
Whilst it's obviously easy to load up a different browser or disable leechblock it works as a great reminder of what I'm actually trying to achieve. It's easy to temporarily disable if, e.g. the plan is to do nothing but indulge in social media but generally I keep it on - probably if I'm spending more than 30 minutes on facebook I really need to think about how I'm spending my life.
I recommend it, give it a try, you might surprise yourself!
Leech Block is the best add-on to remain productive at work. Simply redirect yourself to a useful, work-related page. You're surprised initially how often you want to go on Facebook.
I would wish to be able to enter a list of alternative sites which are randomly selected for re-direction.
LeechBlock has saved me. A habit I could not break by myself. The habit of visiting certain websites on the Internet (not porn, mind you). Certain news-aggregator sites. I would spend hours on them every day.
With LeechBlock I have succesfully locked myself out of the site without any access to the settings. I do have one window of opportunity to change the settings and browse the website, but I have to wake up at four in the morning to do so.
My bad habit is gone now. Thank you James Anderson for saving my life. :)
An unbelievably useful piece of software that's saved me hundreds upon hundreds of hours over the eight months I've used it. Highly recommended.
LeechBlock is my Jiminy Cricket.
