My cat likes me much more because I'm on facebook less. I'm an illustrator and do much of my work on my computer, so the internet procrastination twilight zone can be deadly to my productivity. I've had to set it up to where I can't go in and turn off the block while something is being blocked. I have terrible self-control and facebook and searching for random stuff on amazon are my two worst time sucks.

It's fantastic! Nothing's missing at all, and it's totally compatible, I love it!

Though it'd be cool if you had the feature of showing a custom block message, but whatever

Best Tool Ever Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I have the tendency to procrastinate and so I've set it up to block my favorite sites so I focus on my studies.

Leechblock does its job and does it well.

I've noticed just in general that I've been much more productive all-around.

An essential app! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

My new favorite productivity extension!
From the website:
You can specify up to six sets of sites to block, with different times and days for each set. You can block sites within fixed time periods (e.g., between 9am and 5pm), after a time limit (e.g., 10 minutes in every hour), or with a combination of time periods and time limit (e.g., 10 minutes in every hour between 9am and 5pm). You can also set a password for access to the extension options, just to slow you down in moments of weakness!

It helps remind me that I need to stay on task, but it's easy to disable if my schedule changes (unless you don't want it to be - you can make it nearly impossible to disable).

Easy to use, but not perfect Rated 3 out of 5 stars

The user interface is simple. But the documentation is lacking. And the addon does not always perform as expected. For example, N tabs open from Youtube cause the timer to go N times faster in some situations.

Excellent add on! It is simple and intuitive. Blocking works great and giving yourself some access through the delay function helps limit the use of non-essential websites.

It does the job Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Amazing productivity boost by blocking set of pages depending on time of the day and time spend on the page. Keeps me off the timewasting pages like facebook. It simple does what it claims to do.Thanks

An excellent add-on that does exactly what I want and works perfectly. Each time I come upon an enticingly time wasting site, I play a bit, then add it to my list as "only after 10.30pm". At least I don't waste my days!

LeechBlock is very customizable (you can set up to block different websites for different time periods, or groups of websites for different time periods). It's also great, because if you want to give yourself an hourly "allowance" on your blocked sites (ie 4 minutes per hour for a break), you can!

There's also a lockdown function, where you can lock yourself out of your sites on a whim (like if you have a big task come up so you really need to shut yourself out when you'd normally have access). I haven't tried this, but am excited to.

Great app, love it, no problems here!

The idea of blocking webpages from yourself may seem absurd at first, but I have found it very effective. When you have to write academic texts, all too often you get stuck at a particular point and then look at a completely different webpage just for distraction. Now I just look at the "blocked" sign and return to work much quicker; LeechBlock is a good tool to help breaking bad habits. I especially like how sophisticated it is in terms of choosing times when certain pages are blocked etc.
It does not stop procrastination completely though:
1) It does not stop you from looking at irrelevant webpages that you find via Google. For example, I read the sentence: "Dedicated to our collegue Dr. V. P. da S., who was killed in March 2004 by African bees during an excursion in the Pantanal." in the opening of a journal article and spent some time finding out how dangerous bees can be to humans.
2) Instead of procrastinating on your favourite webpages, you may find yourself procrastinating away from your computer; I spent some time eating cherries I found outside on a tree and practicing my juggling skills. Overall, however, I'd say that is still preferable, since at least you spend less time in front of your computer.
3) That "blocked" page tells you to write a review, which is what I'm currently doing here. It is also a form of procrastination, since I should be finishing my chapter. However, I think I will only write one review, so from tomorrow onwards that should not be a problem either.

Great Tool, much more sophisticated than the one I've used before.

There is only one thing I'm missing - when blocking after a certain time spent on a site, it should have an option to count the time for each site in a block list individually or all together - currently it's only the latter.

As I have a lot of sites I (should) visit only once per day or so, 6 sets are not enough to set that up with the current options.

Leechblock is seriously the best addon I've found for the task. Once you figure out the customisation options and configure an appropriate set-up it really helps you focus. For context I am a third-year university student and Leechblock has proved invaluable for me in my studies.

very intuitive user interface and setup...
