Seems a bit silly. If you can find the will to install this, surely you can find the will to not spend your day on Facebook?

Silly?

"If you can find the will to install this, surely you can find the will to not spend your day on Facebook?"

No, because it's much easier to install and set up LeechBlock than it is to constantly resist the temptation to spend time on Facebook and other sites. Isn't that obvious?

amazingly simple to use Rated 5 out of 5 stars

i could just install it and start using it without having to really think

and then when i wanted to do something more complex with it, allow a certain amount of time on a particular website, that option was right there waiting for me

has done everything i've expected it to do so far without effort

Very handy, but buggy with multiple monitors Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Generally this is a very useful product. Although, since installing it I tend not to visit the sites in question through my own volition rather than due to the plugin. However, I suppose it's good for weaker moments.

Sadly, the add-on is buggy if you have multiple monitors. If you attempt to access a leech site and the count-down begins, don't switch focus to your other monitor otherwise the count-down freezes and never completes.

Simple and efficient, exactly what I needed against procarstination.

It is an app for someone who has already accepted he has a problem with wasting time and wants to solve it.

My first idea was to check for partenting apps, but they s**ked because they blocked everything or nothing.
LeechBlock (and other similar apps) allow you to block exactly the sites that you have decided to start avoiding, without accidentally blocking sites you might need for your work.

The option of blocking certain websites during certain hours (for ex while at work) of the day works perfectly for me. Also the option to allow yourself X minutes of entertainement every Y hours is very useful.

(unfortunately, even with favourite websites blocked, one can still find ways to procarstinate- for example writing long reviews on mozilla add-ons website)

Thank you Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I learned about Leechblock through my online business coach. She recommended it to stop people from random browsing when they were listing on their various platforms (Ebay,Etsy etc.) I tried this and it works beautifully. From 9-5 I have sites blocked so I can work without distraction. Thank you so much.

Works fabulously Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Leech Block has helped me conquer much of the internet procrastination that keeps my productivity way down when I am on my computer.
It has numerous options concerning how, when, and what to block that let you really customize your setup depending on what best suits the degree of your procrastination and dedication to accessing those sites (randomly generated long passwords, inability to access the app when it's blocking things, inability to modify sites being blocked at that moment, etc.). I haven't really found any loopholes to it (not that I've been looking), and you can add timers to your browser to see how much time is remaining on your blocked sites.
I also found it very handy that if you right click on any website, you can automatically add it to a list of blocked sites you have without opening up the whole app menu (of course, you cannot remove it in this way!).
All around, it's wonderful.

Prevents bad habits Rated 5 out of 5 stars

When I have a frustrating moment at work, I sometimes automatically type facebook.com into my browser, even though I don't really want to browse Facebook. This prevents that bad habit. Now I need to wait 15 seconds to decide is I *really* do want to visit Facebook or other time-wasters.

This plugin also encourages me to take a real break. What I should really do is get up, and stretch or take a walk.
