Fantastic Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I first learnt about Lazarus when I meet the author of the software for the first time. At the time it seemed like a good idea but not something I would find useful. Until a form I was working on crapped out :( No big deal it was not that mush time spent. Then another time I lost a bunch of stuff from a text field. I decided to install Lazarus. It is really very good. Another thing I have found it to be useful for is on websites which time you out for a session or even more useful any kind of repudiative form so you can quickly complete the form the same as the last time you completed.

I hope that in the future I connect again with the developer to say thank you for making such a great plugin.

The add-on is good, but doesn't save all forms.

Laz worked for me today (firefox 44) Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I just spent an hour filling out a (horrendous) web form. There was a glitch in the Matrix and the form disappeared. Thanks to Laz, I recovered 95% of my effort.

To SierraCircle -- if you can resurrect this app, it would be spectacular. You don't need it often, but it saved me this time.

And I don't mind donating. My strategy was to donate $5 for every big save. But the old website is dead.

Can't use 'search', getlazarus.com site down and emails to support@lazarusfr.com just bounce back Rated 2 out of 5 stars

One never knows just how important an Add-on is to one's daily work flow until it stops working. :( When I try the Search function, all I get is a blank window with a "Done" button. It had been working flawlessly for years. If the support email or website worked I wouldn't be reporting this problem in a review. I hope the developer is still around to assist.

Attempting to Revive this add-on Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I have written the developer of this add-on asking if the community could take over the development and open-source it. I have not heard back yet. I plan on giving it a little more time and if do not hear from him I will start a git-hub repository so we can clean this up and get things functional.
In particular:
# remove the Donate requests
# add the ability to ignore certain pages (don't save forms for specific pages)
# add a way to access search without the statusbar

I am sure there are a few other features folks would like to see added. For now, if you are like me (and tons of other users), this is the only addon that does what it does, and you use it every day. Having the "Donate" request come up just at the moment you need it is very aggravating, especially now that the developer has dropped off the face of the earth.

I have dug around in the code and disabled the Donate request, but unfortunately, changing any of the code causes the addon to lose its Mozilla signature, so you can only use the edited version if you run Firefox Nightly and allow for unsigned addons...as such, I will need to rewrite the addon and get Mozilla approval to list it as a new Addon so it can be signed properly.

For anyone would like to help out in the rewrite, I will post the github repository here once I open it.

Meanwhile, be patient and hopefully we can get this wonderful addon back on track!

A real Godsend Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This has saved me more than once from losing a lot of time typing. But does anyone know how to configure it to save to a different location (for database)? Thanks

WORKS GREAT - but "BEGWARE" Rated 2 out of 5 stars

BUT, that's cause I know enuff ocde to "bump" the extensions version thingy.

Oh.

AND I TOOK OUT YOUR RUDE AND INTRUSIVE BEGWARE NAG.

Other than the "Begware Bug" It works great

Great, but in dire need of an update Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Lazarus has been saving my butt for years now, I've even paired it with another add-on for more effective recovery (GhostEdit, Sublime Text 3, and the GhostEdit-plugin for that!), I NEVER lose text in any sort of web field. The fact it uses encryption to store your text is just icing on the cake! My only gripe, it's outdated by a few years, and new web-form types have come around that it no longer works with, namely Youtube and Google+. I work around this by using GhostText in those situations, but it would be nice if Lazarus played along as well. Still, I cannot knock this add-on for that, it functions very well, rarely a hiccup, and does everything it sets out to! One of my essentials, I just hope the developer can find the time to bring it up to 2015.

A lifesaver, but doesn't work on everything Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This has saved me from losing what I've written so many times, but unfortunately it doesn't work on Youtube (or Google+), and I've been routinely losing comments I've typed due to various issues (sidebar closing when clicking out, accidentally hitting the back/forward button on my mouse).

Just now I've lost something extremely important (yes, on Youtube, go figure), and have come here to check for updates, only to find that it hasn't been updated since 2011.

I will now go try to look for another addon so this never happens again.

Good while it lasted.

Edit: Nothing else seems to exist, which just boggles my mind.

Edit2: The author's site is down; it looks like this addon will never be updated again.

resources for using 'Lazarus form recovery' Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I found a means for still using ‘Lazarus form recovery’, with all it’s features for the current versions of Firefox web browser, with all features being functional and enabled, I believe.

I found these two resources for using Lazarus form recovery in the current versions of Firefox browser vers.29+ and above.

First, these are some instructions for ‘howto’ use Lazarus form recovery, a step by step guide with examples on its use:

www.howtogeek.com/howto/15449/recover-lost-form-data-in-firefox/

Second, I used another Firefox browser ‘addon’, to add the status bar to the bottom of the Firefox browser, in Firefox versions 29+. This 2nd Firefox add-on is the ‘Status-4-Evar’ Firefox add-on. I did this so I could access the ‘context menu’ for the ‘status bar icon’ for ‘Lazarus form recovery’ - add-on:

addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/status-4-evar/

Without the Status-4-Evar Firefox add-on I wouldn’t have known how to access the context menu by clicking the Lazarus ‘status bar’ icon, which was made viewable by this second Firefox add-on.

I just want to pass along my findings on using Lazarus, for anyone interested in using this very useful add-on for the Mozilla Firefox web browser.

It still (mostly) is working in PaleMoon Rated 4 out of 5 stars

OK, it has long since been abandoned(2011) and it used to be a complete blockbuster.

Still, when using PM it doesn't need many updates because it is a stable platform that doesn't make gut-wrenching changes every 5 minutes.

On PM there is no issue with it getting stuck on donations. The only known issue (besides abandonment) is it fails to eliminate web search forms when deleting forms- and AFIK Clear Form History can't do that either.

For now that is a hole crying out for an extension writer to plug.

Seth Has Created A Fantastic Add-On: Should Be "Mandatory" Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I don't know Seth, but I know his work because I've been using Lazarus for years. I'm really glad to have it. It's been there when I've dreaded the loss of lengthy text I accidentally lose/erase/accidentally hit the "Back" button on. Donate a dollar for the best app on Firefox. I am. Here I go...

Excellent add on - or at least it was... Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Previously, I'd have written that this is an ABSOLUTE must have - period.
I'd been using it for years and feel I simply couldn't do without (it has saved my ass many times), but from what I'm reading below, I have to wonder -- wha??
I'm a bit perplexed; you see, I haven't been using firefox for a while, and now as I'm re-installing, I find negative reviews of - or at least issues regarding - Lazarus, one of my favorite add-ons. It's been working fine on Chrome, so I'll have to wait and see if its still viable on ffx - I DO hope so, but if not, Please fix it!

It actually IS bad what happens sometimes with this sort of things. I already decided that sometimes a hired programmer is needed to fix personal things. And forget about anything else. ~unless it is about a greater improvement of course.

Needs updates but has been abanonded Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This addon has long been a lifesaver and a must for firefox, but the thing that has always bugged me about it is that it does not work in Google+/YouTube which is one of the places where it really needs to work!! Sadly, though, this addon seems to be abandoned so no updates are going to happen. Otherwise, it works just fine!
