LavaFox V2-yellow Rated 5 out of 5 stars

yo creo que el creador deberia crear este tema en color amarillo o naranja o los dos combinados

Великолепно Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Çok ayrı bir hava kattı, gayet güzel. Tek sıkıntı bazı simeler görünmüyor. Mesela seçenekler simgesi.

Overall, I LOVE this theme, even though it does have some problems, including (but not limited to) hiding some icons (e.g., anonymoX). It also doesn't work well with Vertical Toolbar. The worst issue I've found to date, however, is that in the latest version (2.3.3) it messes up the searchbar in version 34.0.5 of Firefox so that it's completely unusable. As a result, I am using the previous version. I fully admit that these issues could be at least partly due to conflicts with other add-ons (as I was told by the author), but it's so much nicer when themes work and play nicely with others. Nevertheless, if these issues were resolved, LavaFox would easily be worth 5 stars.

Hi Fred, thanks for your review!
The theme currently has no known bugs with Firefox so first we'll need to get a support request, better try with a fresh profile and proceed from there. We cannot support all add-ons but we do support most of the common ones. Let us know how does it work for you with a default profile first, please contact:

Excellent theme Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Excellent theme
Sadly does not work fullscreen with classic theme restorer appmenu button like other themes do and the new one click search preference entire icon is broken.

But on a whole very nice theme, Keep up the good work.

Unfortunately it is technically impossible for a 3rd party theme to fully support Classic Theme Restorer while keeping compatibility with latest Firefox builds.
The search is already supported, hang on a couple of days and check the theme's page for "version history" > "show all versions". It takes a little while to approve the update so feel free to download it before it gets reviewed by Mozilla's editors.
Hang on, the update is in the pipeline .. :)

Great theme Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I been using this theme for almost as long as i been using Firefox. But what are the chances of Update to this that based of Australis Theme but with this color scheme?

As theme no longer supports all the changes to FF and dont show every thing correct as result.

Would love Australis theme setup using the colors and icons/buttons lavafox uses.

Thanks for your feedback! This theme displays Australis correctly since much before it got released, in fact it's always compatible with latest Nightly versions (currently FF version 36 & soon 37. You probably have a bug related to other add-ons that didn't support the changes well.

Buttons too small, and top right corner buttons, close, restore, and maximize disappear Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I like the look of the theme, except that the close tab buttons and the restore, miximize, and close buttons are too small. Also, when not in maximized mode, the restore, maximize, and close buttons in the top, RH corner of the browser disappear. There's always right click and choose, but that's beside the point. The buttons should be visible, whether maximized or not. Also, there could be just a bit more contrast between the active and inactive tabs. If my screen is straight up and down (vertical), and I'm looking at the screen on a slightly downward angle, it's fine; but when looking straight on at the screen, with the screen at eye level, it's difficult to tell at a glance which tab is active. When I'm researching a project and have several sources open, each in its own tab, just a little more contrast on the active tab would save a lot of time. It may seem insignificant with just one instance, but the time savings or loss becomes significant over a few hours of research, especially when documenting the location of each source for a bibliography.

Thanks for your review. It seems that you're experiencing a bug, the buttons should be visible at all times. Please contact us at & attach a screenshot showing the whole window with the disappearing buttons.

great but button are too small Rated 4 out of 5 stars

it's perfect but the buttons are too smalls, i preferred it before v29 of FF... please make it adjustable :)

The buttons used to be big & small but Firefox stopped supporting it, it's not the theme .. sorry, you'll have to get used to it :)
Or, maybe try Classic Theme Restorer, could help, didn't test it ...

Just one small problem, can you please make the back and forward button bigger, as well as other buttons such as minimize, pin tab etc??
Other than that, Loveeee the cool design of this theme very very much!! smooth glass feelings. almost same standard as Apple

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.2.7).

Thanks for your feedback & huge compliment! Apple is definitely one of the most inspiring ..
There used to be big/small icon preference & the theme supported it but Firefox dropped support so unfortunately the big buttons don't exist.
It's strange, would be great to have both options, but we have to choose only one size (preferring to keep things compact if only one option is available).

Needs more contrast Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I'm writing this in the hope the authors will see it.

There are not many good dark themes that will work with FF29 on Mac. Everyone says this theme is easy on the eyes (and it is) but in the effort to make it non-taxing some elements have just lost too much contrast. For example:

. with many tabs open I find it hard to see which is the active tab in the tab bar. I use the green version because it has the most contrast in the tab but a yellow version could be better - even better would be yellow with reversed font color on the active tab. However, for the active tab the tab title is less important than its color (because what page it is can usually be determined easily from the content).

. I have trouble with the back/forward button, the new tab button and the zoom buttons because of the lack of contrast in these buttons.

For some symbols its desirable that they recede because they aren't used so often or their context is clear from other aspects (like the search field which has g for google in - making the magnifying glass recede is good because its clear what the field is) - but for buttons one uses so much, like back/forwards, +newTab and zoom (well I use them loads) its nice to be able to find them quickly, reliably and without struggling to see what they are. I regularly click on new tab instead of back because I can't see where these two are. I have normal eyesight but am not a teenager so if it bothers me it probably bothers many people.

Good work - I've taken the trouble to write this because I will benefit from these being addressed and its about the best for mac - many of the dark themes are for windows or linux. Actually some of them work on FF on mac but I don't want to fiddle around editing my theme to work around things every time FF updates (six times a day it seems recently).

Hi Andy,
Thanks for your feedback!
The toolbar icons will get updated some time in near future, it's a work in progress and at the moment there's a mix of new and old (recent Firefox update broke many things and there's a lot of work just to keep up, - as you noticed :)
Anyway, it's in the pipeline, you'll notice some changes soon (starting from the zoom probably). There are further plans for high contrast option (via user-style) .. just need more time ..
Please contact us on and attach a screenshot and we'll try to help ...

Easiest on the Eyes and add on bar is missing now Rated 5 out of 5 stars

By far the easiest on the eyes theme. Great theme for working in the dark or light. All fonts are easy to read. But since the new ff29 update the LavaFox theme stops the bottom tool bar from being displayed. I am using ff version 28 and LavaFox works but now the add-on bar won't display. Firefox forced the 29 update and I was unable to get it to work as I needed, even with add-ons "classic theme restorer" and "tabs on bottom" So I reinstalled 28 and stopped the updating in about:config to keep it that way. But now LavaFox (the best and easiest on the eyes theme) stops the the bar at the bottom from being displayed. I advice all to try LavaFox, you will love it. And I ask LavaFox to look into fixing the problem with 28 and the add-on bar and if you can't, that's OK, you have given so many wonderful years of the best theme ever.

Thanks for your feedback!

You can fix it with Stylish, then add this short code to a new (empty) user-style.

Theme of Choice Leaves No Choice Rated 4 out of 5 stars

LavaFox V2 Blue and Red have been my themes of choice since first released. I've stuck with them through thick and thin. That makes it particularly difficult to leave this theme behind now, but with the release of FF29, I can no longer use FF the way that it is most productive for me if LavaFox remains my theme. With FF29, Mozilla made a design change to the toolbars, removing the Add-ons toolbar completely, and making the "Tabs on top" of the address bar permanent, with even the "about:config" option unable to change it. That change has left a whole lot of folks baffled, myself included. It feels counter intuitive, and senseless to remove the option. Additionally, with the LavaFox theme, especially if you have several tabs open, it detracts from the aesthetics of the theme considerably IMO. Fortunately, we are left with an option to use the Classic Theme Restorer add-on, and among other things, reverse the toolbars. Unfortunately, there is a bug in LavaFox, or the author's decision to not support that option, and there is no option available within LavaFox itself to do so, which would have been ideal.

Gr8 theme...could use one tweak Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I like this theme....after upgrading to Firefox 29.0 this theme still worked. Only one small tweak I would love to see. The favorites button. The add to favorites and list your favorites is the same button but you need to hover slightly to the left or right to discern from the two. I almost always inadvertently add a page I'm viewing to favorites when I'm actually trying to display my list of favorites. This may not be an issue for some...not sure. I was wondering if they could actually be two separate buttons? Albeit small ones that take up the same amount of space. I would definitely write a new review giving this cool looking theme 5 stars then.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.2.0).

Thanks for your feedback!
Unfortunately a theme cannot separate the button, this is a change in Firefox on version 29. It affects all themes. But, I heard that there is an add-on that brings back the two buttons ..
Try this: (watch for the instructions, needs another add-on) ..

Why not support something today you did yesterday Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is a question not a demand. Yesterday with Firefox v28 it worked fine so whats different about reversing the changes has the theme also updated or not. My only reason for using the Classic Theme Restorer is to reurn my Firefox to how it was yesterday not years ago. Most of those who use this tool newly from today, are pointed to it by Mozilla to try and appease the uproar from trashing our carefully organised setups without warning and are like me trying to actually cusomise their Firefox Their way, It's a joke of a slogon that for v29 when it hass the exact opposite effect.
Just noticed also Themes are wallpapers and this is now a complete Theme and no new complete themes in have been made in over a year. So how long before these are obsolete and unsupported also, that must be annoying for you Zigboom, the so called new themes are a joke. Firefox is being killed bit by bit leaving a bland and boring mess behind.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.2.0).

Dear File Magician,
The reason I'm not supporting Classic Theme Restorer are purely technical. Since Mozilla dropped support for tabs on bottom for example, they make it nearly impossible to support the old and the new at the same time (very complicated to write such a code).
But, before Australis the theme supported tabs on bottom perfectly, also tabs on top. I suggest to anyone that wants to "freeze Firefox in time" - to use the last version of LavaFox or BlackFox that works perfectly with it.
You won't miss anything by doing so, it should work probably perfectly, please try and let me know how it goes ...
Anyway, if it will turn out to be possible (for me with my limited resources) to support some of the Classic Theme Restorer functions, I'll be happy to ...
By the way, personally I was very much against Australis but honestly, I feel good with it after a few months of usage, actually more customization, not less (but a few features were removed without obvious reasons - I agree, tabs on bottom is one of them). Will research for a solution ...

My favorite theme stoped working correctly! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

My favorite theme. Till yesterday it was working fine, but after upgrading my firefox from v28 to v29, when using "Tabs Not On Top" feature in Classic Theme Restorer addon, the tabs are hidden . I can see only the top few pixel of the tabs. Please help... (I m using Lavafox v2.2.0)

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.2.0).

Thanks for your feedback!
The theme does not attempt to support tabs on bottom at this time, since Firefox stopped supporting it on Australis update (ver.29). We will look into it but please keep in mind that no theme can support all add-ons perfectly. We do support all Firefox's native features up to Nightly version, add-ons and try to support major add-ons. Classic Theme Restorer is an add-on that makes drastic changes to the interface and reverses Australis changes. It'll be nearly impossible to support it's options.
Anyway, please report bugs on http;// in order to test properly.
