by Firefox user 14487727, 2 months agoI have ProWritingAid Premium, which supposedly gives me the capabilities of this Add-on but I turned it off--will use it for large volume writing and editing--and bought the Pro version of LT instead for everyday use. It is really efficient on PC resources! That is a big deal for me. Apps that cause my PC to buffer or hang up kill my flow and productivity. I wished LT Pro had a writing level complexity rating, a la Hemingway Editor. The annual fee is not cheap either. My Lifetime PWA Premium license is a vastly superior deal. However, for efficient writing assistance and supervision, as you go, this is showing itself to be a standout tool.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Firefox user 17468656, 7 hours agoHas become very stupid. Makes incorrect "corrections" constantly, gets tense wrong, does not know words exist (it tried to correct 'withering' to 'dithering' for no reason). Used it for a while but have had to stop because it's irritating more than helping.

Does not even send a request and then times out.
It works with 8.11.2 so I reverted to that one.
Edit:
8.13.2 also works, so seems like you introduced a problem when updating to 8.14 which seems to have been a major update.
I went with 8.11.2 first because that was the version that is currently still working in thunderbird.
Not really keen on making an account just to report it.Developer response
posted 4 days agoI just tried, and it works for me. Please contact us with details on the forum (https://forum.languagetool.org) so we can help debug this.
Update: 8.14.2 also works for me - I'm sorry we can't give support here on addons.mozilla.org - Rated 5 out of 5by charles frickert, 4 days ago
- Rated 1 out of 5by xderpx, 6 days agoThe amount of times it suggests changing the tense to be incorrect is staggering. Sometimes I will accept its suggestion, then it immediately changes its mind and suggests I undo its suggestion. It also strongly suggests breaking sentences up to be grammatically incorrect. It is consistently dumb and only gets it right 50% of the time. I can't recommend it.

- Rated 3 out of 5by ThatManZam, 21 days agoI required this extention to keep me on my toes while writing stories on twinery.org/2 , however although errors are highlighted I find it very difficult to activate the pop up that would allow me to correct them. That and when it does work it adds the new word to the existing word rather than overwiting it

- Rated 5 out of 5by Nhân Trí, 22 days agothis is unexpectedly good
unlike grammarly which is inconsistent (some websites load some not) this works seemlessly for every website
