by Owen J Griffin, 2 months agoLove this tool, I do have a few issues that just mess up my flow a little.
1. When it asked me to rate the tool in Google docs it let me rate it to you guys but when I tried to do it on the Firefox Market place, clicking the link did not work. I had to right click and open it in a new tab. Might be a user error.
2. It can be a little confusing when using it across devices, I don't know if I am logged in or not at certain times. If possible it would be really nice if you guys could link the accounts to the Mozilla accounts. It just would save the hassle of logging into it when I am writing an email to someone and their name is not recognized.
3. Grammar correction inside of quotes, I don't like it when I am quoting something and it asks me to fix the grammar inside of it. I am just picky and do not like it when it shows up as red and I press ignore. Just me being picky haha.
4. **Edit** Just found it, it does not come up on our school Chromebooks for some reason, I'll talk to my team about it to get it fixed and or unblocked.
Bring it to the Chrome Web Store! I work on four different OS's because I am a student in high school and do IT for the school and that requires a Windows OS, Video yearbook requires Mac OS, and my computer inside my office runs a Linux distro. All of these work Great to perfectly, but when I am in class I have to use Grammarly and they are just a mess when it comes to this stuff, I feel Language Tool is missing out on so much potential. If you guys would just make a version that works on Chrome, I have so many buddies that would switch in a heart beat. Most of them already use your tool but in school they have to use Grammarly, and it just sucks.
Love the tool you guys made, helps me a lot in my day to day. Hope you guys keep improving the tool.

- Rated 1 out of 5by Axolotl, 15 hours agoUsed to be amazing, now it's yet another AI filled mush of a software because they want to be on the badwagon too.
I'm using this for writing. Why the hell would I want an AI built on the theft of people's work given access to my writing and telling me what to write instead. Uninstalled with haste. - Rated 1 out of 5by wynthro, 18 hours ago

- Rated 5 out of 5by stefansoyka, 13 days agoViel besser als alles, was ich vorher ausprobiert habe. Eine echte Hilfe, die auch Casus, Numerus und Genus von abhängigen Worten prüft. Ist auch in LibreOffice eine schöne Ergänzung, wenn man mal offline schreibt.
- Rated 2 out of 5by Endless Fantasy, 13 days agoTwo stars for not including an option to select, an “Any dialect” in the which dialect to use dropdown, or select multiple as a bubble, as either a basic or advanced option.
I consider this a critical feature of any language tool, especially a spell check.
I'd also like to be able to select “Show both as a suggestion” For these features of premium let alone recommend it as a user I want more freedom of expression in how I type, sometimes to type in standard “wrong” variations and even recommend them (The horror!!!):
Wrong Punctuation
Incorrect Word Combinations
Advanced Missing Commas
Foreign Terms
It's also lacking several important features such as custom dictionaries from what I can tell.
There's no excuse for not loading from standard formats for this.
Review was edited using this software.
The software also disguises telling you about "Advanced" errors, as a form of very blatant advertisement, and front-loads its AI paraphrasing, and rewriting system as much as it reasonably can without impacting the user experience.
As a user I don't want this, I don't want to know if I made an advanced spelling mistake, because I know that The software does not support that because I read the page, I expect no scanning, not ad's for scanning disguised as good faith showcasing of your product, or the user's failures.
It needs to be a default off option like "Enable scanning of user text for premium features, to warn user about their mistakes" would be ideal.
There's not even any options clutter yet, good work, but its not configurable enough.
Id say my review rating is: Stalker HoC's reception. - Rated 4 out of 5by Firefox user 18697898, 13 days ago
