WORKS! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

CMD+Q has been a thorn in my side for a while. The keys are tight on the wireless keyboard, and I'm always using CMD+1, CMD+W (etc) shortcuts which all linger much too close to the "kill" button. I've tried many options (about:config, other addons) and nothing has worked. Until now! :)

Helpfull, but still has some room for improvements Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Does what it says it does.

Save for the fact that it makes cmd+q close even pinned tabs (which is obviously unwanted and gives about the same annoyance as to accidentaly quitting the app!).

Btw, my suggestion for the key binding to actually quit the app is to press cmd+q twice in a certain short period of time, as in Chrome.

Nearly perfect, with a couple of exceptions Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Works great, even on Mac. Unfortunately, it also closes pinned tabs (which Ctrl+F4 or Cmd+W won't do), which should remain persistent and pinned. A long-press Cmd+Q (like Chrome) would be preferred to actually quit, or quitting if only pinned tabs are remaining. This is especially important on a Mac since closing windows won't close the application.

Cmd+Shift+Q isn't available as Lion (10.7) uses that for its logout command-sequence.

Still better than accidentally closing 10 tabs with incomplete form data filled out!

Perfect! 99% of the time, when I hit command Q, I meant to hit command W. So by making it have the same function as cmdW, I don't even have to retype the shortcut. And if I ever want to fully quit Firefox (the other 1%), I can easily still just go to the menu and pick quit. Exactly what I needed. Thanks, developer.

Like this a lot Rated 5 out of 5 stars

So I do like this because I hit Q instead of W a lot on accident on a Mac, one thing to not that I was going to complain about but found it is an option, holding down Cmd+Q slightly longer will actually quit Firefox, good feature.

Would Cmd/ctrl+shift+q be convenient? I think that's free. I ask mainly because I'm not sure I can get the length of a keypress and act based on that, or at least it wasn't in the version of the api I read up on.

this DOES work, but is pointless on Mac Rated 2 out of 5 stars

It does what it says: allows Ctrl-Q to close window, not quit. However, I think most Mac users use Cmd-Q to quit and Cmd-W to close windows/tabs, so this doesn't really help us from accidentally quitting. (Ff 7.0.1; OS 10.6.8)

Re: Pointless on Mac

Thanks for pointing that out. It never occurred to me that it may not work on mac(though this was one of those scratch-your-own-itch addons,) I'll update it to take Cmd right now.

Awesome Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Hey bro, thanks for fixing it so that it now works on Mac. Works perfectly I might add. I am changing my 1 star review to 5 stars. Very grateful to you cos now I won't accidentally quit Firefox when I meant to just close a window. Thank you man! Peace out.

RE: Doesn't work

you mind giving me a version, program, and what you did? That's not overly helpful for letting me fix the problem ;)
