Why was KBrowser created?
This add-on is based on a previous program we developed almost 15 years ago called Optimal Desktop. When we released Optimal Desktop Browsers didn't even have tabs and there was no Chrome or Firefox! We saw a need for users to manage their own context.
Most of us access tens of different websites to do our work, read news and play and we do this on a daily basis. Whether we know it or not there is a need to organize access to these sites so that we can work more efficiently and don't have to repeat the same task multiple times a day.
We had good success with Optimal Desktop, but since our solution was based on IE and it only ran on windows we couldn't get the traction we deserved, even though we had many enthusiastic supporters. Having our App as a Firefox extension has eliminated many of the challenges we had before, like platform compatibility.
We hope you like this app as much as we do.
What's next for KBrowser
Next we will work on themes. We want new looks for the tabs and also the ability to easily hide the tabs. This is important for smaller screens.
We will also enhance our Curation and Mobile offerings.

Who is Karan Bavandi?
I co-founded Optimal Access about 16 years ago. What excited me about our solution was empowering users to create and manage their own access to the web.
What I envision is for users to manage and share context and not just content. An authoring tool that lets millions of people share their research on any topic to improve discovery of information and therefore knowledge!
