I want these options http://imageshack.com/a/img924/2305/zIFR70.png
This is a great, simply, easy to use plugin but it didn't get upgrade. So i re-packaged it for Firefox 4+ https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/isgd-creator-fork/
Simple and fast, but one problem: Ctrl-Alt-I doesn't create and copy a short link as it's supposed to.
I love the simplicity of this add-on, but it occasionally fails to create a shortened URL. This has bit me before when I had shortened one URL, attempted to shorten another one, and then unwittingly pasted the first when expecting the second. Could the button be made to clear the clipboard whether or not a new URL is created? Perhaps sending an empty string to the clipboard before attempting to create a new shortened URL.
toolbar icon just disappeared ? using FF 3.5.3 on Linux
Does anyone know why the is button disappears from the toolbar, was the easiest thing and also the opt+cmd+i doesn't work for me...
Too bad, nice tool
great plug-in, but the shortcut opt+cmd+i doesn't work for me.
running a mac on leopard with ff 3.5.2
That's what i needed, great tool ^^
Apparently, this needs to be updated for Firefox 3.5.1. Hope this is done soon. I really like this add-on.
A must have especially for microbloggers (aka tweeters). Once in a while the toolbar button is ineffective but the context menu entry works. Also, URLs with + signs are not supported with through this add-on but work with the official is.gd bookmarklet.
I was using the TinyURL creator add-on but the author hasn't updated it for FF3.5. This is.gd Creator is a good substitute -- with a less obtrusive notification rather than pop-up that you have to click on.
If you want to remove the iS icon from your toolbar right-click on it, choose "Customise..." and drag the iS icon into the "Customise Toolbar" window.
Was using the TinyURL extension up until FF 3.5 but grew tired of waiting for updates to handle new FF versions.
Switched to this extension when I upgraded to FF 3.5 and have been very happy - it does exactly what I need: Provide a toolbar icon that allows me, via one click, to create a shortened URL and copy to clipboard. I also like the confirmation via the momentary pop-up window above the service tray in WinXP.
The is.gd URL shortener is actually shorter than tinyurl so that is also a plus. Keep up with the latest FF versions and you will have a user for life.
The simplicity of this app is brilliant. I love how it gives you a Growl-like notification to indicate the copy was successful - not intrusive at all.
Thanks for a great extension.
useful, clear, succinct and works with FF3.5rc3.
feature request: can we get an option to have a Status Bar icon which assigns an is.gd URL and copies to clipboard at the click of a button?
Worked great for a few days, then the toolbar button vanished. Contextual menu didn't work either. Reinstalled a couple of times, to no avail. Firefox says it's installed, but I can't actually use it.
One Click (and press enter) and you've got it!
The toolbar button referred to by Dan Kelly is functioning for me (Toolbars>Customize...drag iS button to toolbar).
I like that after creating the link, iS confirms so in a drop-down window, but I'd rather not have to click/press enter to close that window.
The keyboard shortcut does not work for me either. Small problem though in an otherwise fully functional and sleek add-on... one more tiny thing - the red toolbar button is the only color on my toolbar. That's not cool.
Super cool! I love that it automatically copies to the clipboard.
One problem: The "Cntl+Alt+I" shortcut doesn't work for me.
One recommendation: I'd love to have a toolbar button that I could click to activate the plugin - i.e. no need to go into the menu and then down to the menu item.
Excellent! one click and you got it!
I LOVE this plugin. It saves so much time and is.gd has shorter URLs than tinyurl. The only suggestion I can think of would be to add an option for a hotkey to make it even faster. Thanks!
This is a brilliant add on! I prefer it much more to TinyURL. Now you just click the big button and it automatically makes a short URL of the current page!!! Simple and brilliant!!!!!!
Tiny URL Creator is not available now. This addon is a very useful replacement for it.
I second the previous poster's request:
Please provide an option to disable the success dialog box.
Otherwise it is excellent!
