  • It works. Google Shopping works better though. When I do follow a link from Google Shopping, invisible hand actually pops up and tells me other prices, even though it doesn't ever mention the site I'm actually on. This is puzzling; if it knows enough to show me different prices, shouldn't it know that this is the best price, and tell me that from the beginning of my whole search?
However, this is only in some cases. It's still semi-useful.
  • This is a GREAT little add-on, I buy almost everything on-line, have for years except food and clothes. This is the greatest little add-on since Xmarks. It's already saved me many bucks and the time it saves you from bouncing around the web searching for the best price blew me away. You wont regret this little jewel.

  • let IH save you money at Staples. They meet competitors' prices, so through Amazon i found a price for somthing both stores carry but amazon was 9 dollars lower than staples, i brought the printout into the store, and got the lower price! woohoo!
  • does not distinguish between after-rebate price and before-rebate price.
  • good
  • This addon has helped me find lower prices on games, so thanks for that.

To re-iterate what some have already said: it does not take into account any shipping fees, so that is an issue when the shipping fees make the item more expensive than what InvisibleHand stated.

To the creator of this addon: is there any way to integrate the Steam Store? Here is a link: www.steampowered.com
  • Obviously a traffic generator for Amazon.com, not the lowest prices on the web, not by a long shot. Stick with nextag.com or one of those.
  • It's too bad it doesn't include shipping - that can be the huge difference between similar prices.
The new version of InvisibleHand (2.4) does include shipping. We're currently waiting for it to be approved by Mozilla, but if you can't wait, you can download it from: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/11377/versions/
  • fantastisches add-on um zu sparen :)
  • Ridiculous. As I'm writing a review for a product on the site I bought it from, and KNOW it's the cheapest place to get said product, the Invisible Hand tells me I can get it on Amazon for $1.50 more.

I've had this installed for 2 days, and 95% of the places it tells me are on Amazon. I'm getting rid of it right now.
  • Too few notifications to have any value.

Let me know when they can cover all merchants, not just the biggies.

  • that's all we need, yet another bot that watches what you do and uploads statistics.
InvisibleHand does not monitor browsing behaviour or collect any personal information. It doesn't store IP addresses, it doesn't require an account or an email address to use, and it stays inactive when it can't show a notification.

  • Invisible Hand is amazing: you forget it's there until you're browsing around for something you might want or need, and then it just pops up and reminds you that the item is cheaper elsewhere, or it confirms that you're getting the best price. Love it!
  • I really like this add-on, but I just installed the PictureFox add-on to find it breaks InvisibleHand. I wish I didn't have to choose between better product pictures on Amazon vs price comparison. But price comparison wins out....

  • you can save money using this
  • This is an extremely useful application, especially if you're trying to squeeze every last cent.
  • Great Extention Until Last Update VERSION 2.2
Prevents Logining on to OpenDns ?

must role back to ver 2.1
This bug affecting OpenDNS account login has been resolved on the server-side. There's no need to roll back to 2.1
  • Good addon, but can you give the option to hide the icon in the status bar? It just takes up space.
  • Findet nicht wirklich den günstigsten Preis in Germany. Da ist man mit Preissuchmaschinen besser dran.
  • It can get a little annoying, given that it doesn't always give useful information, but that's a give and take with any price comparison service.
  • I confirm Jerry LeDoux's report of staying logged into sites.

I can narrow it down a bit - I get logged out only upon using the "back" command or button in Firefox. After this happens, hitting refresh gives me the same page, but logged in. Go figure. Sent a note to the developer - hope they can fix, I love this extension and am already missing it.
Please accept my apologies for any issue with logging out on version 2.0. I hope it hasn't caused too much inconvenience. We're going to be deploying a new version later today which should resolve the issue. In the mean time time, we've rolled-back to the previous version of InvisibleHand (1.8.2) which is definitely reliable.
  • I had to uninstall this after the latest update. I suddenly had problems staying logged in to sites. Every time I changed pages, I had to log in. The update was the only thing I had installed and it was only happening in Firefox, I uninstalled it and it was the culprit.

I'm sorry this happened. This is due to a bug in version 2.0 that I didn't catch during testing. Please replace InvisibleHand with the current public version and it will solve the problem.

  • This is a neat little addon for savvy shoppers. Already it has saved me from making a bad purchase decision.

Although I think I have noticed a small issue. I landed on a product page on Amazon and it showed a couple sites with better prices in the "View all offers" dropdown. However, when I went to the lowest offer (eg. from Amazon to TigerDirect) the addon tells me it is even lower somewhere else (eg. Buy.com). I think it should just show them all at once.
