I can't understand how I haven't discovered this useful addon before!
Thank you !!!

I love it, and really don't agree with some of the other users criticisms. Perhaps it's because I'm using 2.10.4, or because I tend to check all the settings and read the instructions before I use a new add-on.
Since I'm usually running around 50 tabs and 30+ add-ons, you can see that I like to know where there are conflicts, contradictions and general usability problems. And I work in a few different languages, with several alphabets...and while MS Int'l keyboard is fine for individual diacritics, this is so much easier for composition from tab to tab -- and far easier on my memory. TabMixPlus, HashColorTabs, etc. would seem to fix a few problems some of the other users are having with tab-opening priority or ease of use (visibility) -- especially if they like to tinker with individual settings and flip around between tabs while composing. Definitely a new favorite.

good.... Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I like this tool.
a couple of comments that would make it extremely desirable.
1. Opening the different tabs gets too much
2. If a future feature can be added (not sure if possible) but if you can map the buttons to the keyboard, that would save a lot of time.

Over all, I like it and will keep using it.. I need to type in different languages quite often.

Hi v333k,

At the top of the sidebar you can choose if you want the characters to open in the current tab or a new tab. The default is "open in a new tab", to be sure that loading the character list doesn't erase the page the user was watching, and in which he might already have typed some text.

Thank you for your time and your kind remarks.

J'en ai une utilisation ponctuelle alors il me faudra du temps pour l'évaluer mais merci pour ce travail de romain !

It is difficult to find the character among all the codepages. One has to know in which block it is, and it is very hard to figure out for beginners.
The buttons are not really self-explaining. One has to hover them to know what they do. It makes it (beginner-)user-unfriendly. The search by letter is extremely useful, but I think it is not sufficient. A feature allowing to save a choice of characters would be useful.
Also, the codepage names should be i18zed.
Additionally, this extension hangs when displaying large codepages (on Linux at least).
It is still very experimental, that is, a lot of things must be improved before it can be used by the public at large. Nonetheless, I believe it can already be useful for some people.

Hi Calimo,
Big character lists are in red to avoid time consuming loading (especially chinese characters).
You can choose subsets of to display only the parts you need.
Thank you for your remarks.

Table de caractères Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Practical extension Rated 3 out of 5 stars

A practical extension for those who may need to use different languages. And localized too, which is great for international users. :)

However, it would be better if the different languages characters list opened in the same tab.
