Bug: It breaks the spelling dictionary functionality so it will keep adding any wrong word you check to the context menu unlimited times.
I've been a long time user of this addon especially when I'm not on a mouse! until I recently discovered a bug caused by this addon. actually this bug occurred a long time ago, but wasn't able to find out the real reason behind it as this addon is not always activated on my FF.
I am obliged to give it a star. This review system doesn't allow you to give a 0 stars rating.
I found this add-on completely unnecessary, given you can already open link with the middle mouse button, or the wheel, or if you don't have middle mouse button or wheel, both buttons at the same time. On touch pads you can still use the standard primary button while holding Control (on Linux and Windows) or Command (on Mac).
Thank you for your work.
Could you please fix the 'Paste bug', and also use 'Long press' instead of the 'Ctrl' key?
I had to switch to 'Right Links' because of these issues.
It would be great if this extension had an option to actually emulate the middle click. This would allow extensions like Redirect Remover and MClickFocusTab to function properly when right clicking a link.
lightweight addon @10kb , Pls fix the bug pointed out by littleflyingboy on June 7, 2011
-> InstaClick breaks paste function (in context menu)
Eric, your add-on is pretty good.
But I've got one suggestion.
To temporality re-enable context menu we've to press ctrl.
It would be a better solution to replace it by "longer press"
normal click opens link in new tab
"longer click" (holding the mouse button for 1 second) opens context menu
What do you think about that?
Used this for some time and it worked great. Suddenly, when I right click anywhere on a page it brings up every spell check alternative spelling option since the last time I started FF. (Win 7, FF 11, Instaclick 2.0)
This is now fixed in version 2.1, which is awaiting approval from Mozilla.
It's a great add-on. But please make an update to be compatible with Firefox 8!
It works now with 8. Try looking for updates in the Addon Manager. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Very useful! It's been working fine up to now and it suits my needs perfectly. Thanks a lot!
Great, I like that! Wery usefull.
This is a great add-on, however it seems that every new version since 1.8.1 breaks some very important functionality. Version 2.0 right-click always bring up the option menu for me. Reverted again to 1.8.1 which works 100% and I can enable/desable it with right-click.
Have used an loved this add-on for a long time but the new version will not open tabs in foreground. I know that was one of the improvements for the new version but it doesn't work. If it did I would definitely give this add-on 5 stars.
Please upgrade to 2.0.
As stated in other comments, I really DO love this add-on and I probably use it more than any other and frigg'n CAN'T live without it! : ) However, the new version does NOT open in foreground as before even with the box checked to do so. So, for now, I also have reverted to the older version 1.81. But, other than that little fix which I'm sure is coming soon, this is a frigg'n AWESOME and ESSENTIAL add on! THANK YOU profoundly!!!
Oh, just one other thing... As mentioned by another person below, IF it is your add-on that somehow disables the 'PASTE' function which I've just come to live with and use 'CLIPPLE' to work around it, that would be LOVELY if there is a way you could PLEASE fix it so that the 'PASTE' function could continue working. That would be GREAT!
Please upgrade to 2.0.
Please fix the bug: InstaClick breaks paste function(in context menu). And then this will be 5 stars.
i like this addon a lot, using it for years, best way to open a bunch of tabs for reading it later!
I like this add-on - I often forget about it though, and end up opening tabs I dont want (classic example is I right-click on an annoying ad to remove it via context menu using adblock). An option I'd love to see would be that InstaClick would work *only* when the Control key is pressed - instead of the other way round...
This extension has been an indispensable tool for me for a long time! After hours of troubleshooting, I've connected the "Paste" (Right context menu) failure anywhere in firefox to Instaclick! There is no doubt about this... It is 100% repeatable. Enable this extension and "Paste" Fails. Disable it and "Paste" works. This problem existed in ver.3.1x and 3.6.13. MUCH troubleshooting went into this!
This all started about 4 or 5 weeks ago (Currently 12-10-10) Apparently this is a developing issue as it's being reported by many others. I really hope it gets fixed!!
This is one the best add ones that i have ever used and i just want to thank you for the afford you put in to make this and really appreciate if this add-on can be updated to Firefox 4.0b6.
i like it but it did disable "paste" function , now i have to use ctrl+v , pressing ctrl and right click do not solve the issue .... so far it is ok but if you can fix it that would be nice , using FF 3.6.10 on aser aspire one
needs an option of opening in foreground/background with ALT press
i love this add-on! i have a possible bug to report but when i log into instaclick.mozdev.org it says "no forums defined". when i right-click on a link on my winXP laptop, every once in a while, dozens and dozens of tabs open, with "wleTab" in the url line, and i have to end-task firefox. it makes me gun-shy, and i hesitate to use instaclick for a while.
Exactly what i wanted.....
it's just perfect for Google and forum addict
i prefer right click over wheel press.....
so this is just perfect
Rapide, configuration simple mais avec assez d'options pour faire le bonheur de tout le monde. Pour tous les adeptes du "one click", je recommande vivement :).
I tried this in Firefox 3.6b4, and it worked nicely. But some of the items in the normal right click contextual menu quit working. Such as "Bookmark this Page" "Send Link" "Save Page As" "View Page Source".
Of course since I updated to 3.6b5, the extension won't load at all.
