Google added a feature to hide the sidebar tab
Useless until it gets updated. Who uses Firefox 3.0? I sure would like to try it. Until then I'm rating 1star, should be zero. Update please.
Works great! Thanks for help. I am disappointed in google over this"force feed".
I don't like the mini-sidebar when it is closed. It is noticeable and I only use the toolbar button. You also can't expand the gadgets. iGoogle stacked in a sidebar. Great Gadget!
FYI - this app is absolutely amazing!
iGoogle ist besser als normaler Link aufzurufen als als Sidebar. Nur englische nicht deutsche Buttons.
i really like this addon...
but as the others said, auto reload ist missing e.g.
and i really think its disturbing, that pressing the igoogle button only hides the sidebar, so that there is a vertical space you see the whole time.
and the "photo of the minute" widget by flickr doesnt work...
For those who want change and remameber width of igoogle sidebar this might be useful: http://www.lyalloldfield.co.uk/weblog/
This add-on would be really nice for me if it did behave the right way, that is, displaying its left column (the only one I'm enabling the add-on to show) to the same width as it is on the igoogle webpage. I posted this bug on the developer's blog/site (issue #54). It would also be great if it did reload it's content automatically according to a customizable user setting. I find this add-on to be the only way for me useful to use Igoogle, I would love to see those features fixed. BUT it seems some people do not have this problem with the width so set it up and see for yourself, it's a great addition to Firefox for anyone who uses igoogle.
Will there be auto-reload? I want to use it to check my Gmail on sidebar, but it does not reload automatically.
Perhaps we can have a "reload every ? seconds" setting on this sidebar.
On the next update, add an option to fix the width of the sidebar as someone already previously mentioned. Other than that, great add-on! I love it.
I love this extension, my only request would be to finesse the "hide tabs" feature. Some of the stuff at the top of the iGoogle page is not a tab but is on the same row. I'd like my tabs to show, but I have to hide them to get rid of the other stuff (for example, "themes", "add stuff") that ends up obscuring the menu on my uppermost gadget.
So perhaps either distinguishing between genuine tabs and the other stuff, or somehow forcing the first gadget downward so it can display all the stuff above it without overlap ..... or both of those potential modifications .... would make this sidebar even nicer.
I love this so much I could send you oodles of money. That is, if I had oodles of money to send. You'll have to make do with wishes.
My one tiiiiiny complaint is that it doesn't remember sizing when it's shut down and re-opened.
As it is this is a really good feature however i wish i could pick which tab i used in this and that it didn't change which tab i view by default when i open google normally.
I don't know if this is possible to do, but if it was i would really love it.
4.5 - Great way to keep my news and E-mails in constant view, but it needs an auto-hide option. Very useful!!
I love this thing! I can't wait until it gets updated to work with FF3. At least I sure hope it gets updated. I tried bumping it so it would install, but it still doesn't work.
I love this and want ot have this on all the time.
I do come here wit ha few issues.
1: When I open it it starts really small. I would like to see it remember the last adjustment I did and use it as default.
2:Allow google widgets to adust in the sidebar. I have an issue that a widgit domain tools that when a whois lookup and dig are dont the box expands to fit the text. I would like a scroll feature or have it open all the way.
3: Please have this intergrate in the aios.
Very useful add-on.
One thing that I don't like, though, is that it doesn't actually open in "the" sidebar, it creates a second sidebar just for itself, meaning that two sidebars are open simultaneously (not pretty).
(I'm using Firefox 2 on Linux with AiOS)
Many users have reported that they do not like the way the extension behaves with AIOS. More details here:\r\nhttp://code.google.com/p/igsidebar/issues/detail?id=27
I would love to be able to move it to the right, though. May be the next update will allow it... :)
I've opened a new issue to track your request:
it is a simple but very usefull add-on. I will keep permanetly on my firefox.
There is a lot of things to improve for the next version.
I've been trying to figure out a way to force the All-in-One Sidebar extension to do something similar for quite a while now. After several frustrating botched attempts, I stumbled across this extension which appeared to do exactly what I needed. I wanted some way to keep a simple clock, my Google calendar, and my Gmail gadgets all visible in a sidebar, all the time. I didn't like switching tabs back and forth just to add something to my calender or fire off a quick email. I also hated the idea of using something like yahoo widgets for these three simple items.
After installing this extension and playing around for a while, I realized it's even better than what I wanted it to be. I was thinking that this extension would add to the regular sidebar, but it doesn't, it creates its own, fully customizable side bar while leaving the All-in-One Sidebar fully functional just as it was. Great job!
Having used a lot of news-gathering extensions, C. Finke's RSS Ticker, Murota Lab's Scrapbook, and Firefox's Livemarks-feature, i can say this extension adds A LOT of functionality. It unlocks the Google-features "iGoogle", the Gmail-widget, the Google Reader-widget and all non-Google widgets, right in your browser.
Only complaints i have is that the integration with All-in-One Sidebar has not been implemented yet, and that i have to use the "Gmail Notifier"-extension to automatically login to my google account every time i startup.
That's all i had to say, but.. Where is the Paypal-button so i can make a contribution for this great extension?
i just love it. Thank you!
two small suggestions:
1) Allow auto run when firefox start.
2) Allow to config the refresh interval.
