Localhost ? Rated 2 out of 5 stars

It's really great for published web site, but for local developpment, this is not usefull...
For anyone who wan't to develop on local try MultipleIE (with a javascript bug on IE6 but ok for design)

This is only a way to use IE NetRenderer from Fx

And if I am using Linux or Mac OS?

Actually, the idea was to provide a quick access to the service provided by IE NetRenderer website that I find usefull, right from Firefox (and not the reinvent the wheel!). As mentioned in the description, I'm not affiliated with this website (although the extension is available on it).

interesting but largely useless Rated 2 out of 5 stars

This is an interesting concept, and though I'm not sure what other options are available for developers working on platforms aside from windows to view their webpages as rendered by various versions of Internet Explorer, this plugin is more of a novelty than a useful tool.

It sends the request for the page you wish to view to an outside server and has them render the page, take a screenshot, and sends the screenshot back to you.

No ability to test dynamic elements, view or edit the source, and I imagine it won't work for sites behind a firewall.

does not work with FF 3.0! Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I'm not sure about 2.0, but I downloaded this and tested the rendering for IE 8.0 beta 1 and the screenshot comes up blank. I downloaded this add-on mainly to test my websites in 8.0...I am much disappointed. Come to find out, this add-on does not support SSL. So I tested a non-SSL page of mine, and it doesn't even render correctly. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME.

Very useful module for web developers who are not working on Windows.

Would be perfect if if could take a larger screenshot that showed more than just what is "above the fold", but that's not the fault of the extension ... that's an issue with NetRenderer

This plugin only returns a partial screenshot which also doesn't allow you to check how IE renders mouse overs and other such interactivity. Love the concept though and would love to see how this turns out.

Close but no cigar Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Only returns a partial screenshot of the webpage (the portion of the webpage visible in the browser window minus the height of the advertising bar it places at the top) without any info or choice on resolution, screen size, OS etc. It's a nice idea, but for the moment there are online services that return far better and more useful results. I look forward to future development.

Some details

Screen size is indicated on the ruler at the top of the screenshot: 1016 wide (1024 minus the vertical scrollbar), and there is also an indicative mark for 792 (800px wide minus scrollbar again).

Of course, OS is windows, with Javascript enabled. Some more info here: http://ipinfo.info/netrenderer/index.php?page=2

Do you know another free online service giving you a screenshot without wait time?

Cool to test display issues, but it can't replace testing with the actual browser.

More info please!

Hi,

What is exactly the problem? Compatibility issue? IE NetRenderer should install on Firefox (2.0 - 3.0pre) on any OS.

Good Add-on Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This add-on does exactly what it is supposed to. Keyboard shortcuts and Toolbar buttons work as expected. Add-on installs with no problems. I can see this being a useful add-on for web-devs who want cross-browser compatibility.
