SADLY Rated 1 out of 5 stars
Sadly the developers fail to tell you how to set it up from where.
Thanks for your message. Idderall setup automatically opens if you're on the proper version of firefox. You need to be on Firefox < 28 for it to work. Idderall has not been updated to keep up with the latest versions of firefox. If you have any more questions feel free to email me directly: email@example.com
LMAO had to download because I get Addied out way too often..... Rated 4 out of 5 stars
LMAO had to download because I get Addied out way too often. I initially downloaded simply because the title was hilarious and in Addie land it feels like you have time to download EVERYTHING, but it turns out it works! It's a great way to be more productive if you get lost and lose time like me!!

The EULA is not enforceable. Since this addon is designed to prevent itself from being uninstalled without suffering damages, the EULA cannot be terminated if violated by the user. This is especially problematic given that monetary penalties are included in the addon. The EULA requires the user to destroy all copies of the addon upon termination of the EULA, but also can prevent uninstallation unless money is paid, effectively extorting money from the user to remove software that prevents itself from being removed to satisfy the terms of a license agreement that the user is only bound to if they do not decide to remove the software which resists its own removal. This circular set of restrictions is only made more absurd by the fact that the user may be required to pay to escape from it.
Geez Rated 2 out of 5 stars
I only tried it for a sec because of the review I read as I have no need for plug in like this. Anyways, I just started working on my very first ad on now I'm a a tad nervous...:-)

I know I read the description, but can you please update? I often loose my control on sites :D
Failed to start Rated 2 out of 5 stars
Since the developer of this add-on didn't leave a way to contact him on Idderall's official webpage I'll just leave this here:
Every time I installed this add, a total of 5 times, it failed to start a.k.a. bring in it's introduction page. I tried restarting my firefox, reinstalling the add, but nothing changed.
Then I tried to see if the developer has advice for such situations, but there isn't a "help" or a "contact me" section on the webpage. Sure, there is a facebook button, but it doesn't redirect me to anywhere and excuse me, but I won't register to twitter just for one app.
So I'm not going to rate this app, since I couldn't try it out, but for now I'd give a solid 2 for the developer's attitude.
My support email is listed on the listing for idderall on this site (addon.mozilla.org) It is firstname.lastname@example.org. It seems that you might be using an unsupported version of firefox (eg. Firefox 29) Please email me and I can further assist you.
Key Issues -- Disappointing Rated 1 out of 5 stars
If you are just wanting to try this out, I would suggest you read this before making a decision.
This is a "horrible" extension. I understand why you (the developer) don't want people to easily change their settings while a block is enabled. However, that nearly renders the extension useless. I had set a high cheat time, then went to check the site I'd blocked. There was no indication that Idderall was working; meaning, there was nothing saying, "Are you sure you want to visit this site? You have blocked it with Idderall." So, I wanted to go in and block the site completely (disable cheat time) to make sure Idderall would block the site at all (this concern arose due to other reviews that claim Idderall does not actually block sites). I found that I was unable to change the block times, disable cheat time, or really make any changes at all. All this was irritating and made me want to uninstall it.
To summarize, I didn't like that there is no notification that the extension is working, no confirmation that you want to use cheat time, no timer stating how much cheat time is left, and a complete inability to modify settings for fine-tuning/testing purposes. So, there's at least four things you can work on.
BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE! I then went to uninstall it and found that I could not! Are you kidding me?! Again, I understand why you did this. However, it is so highly detrimental to the reputation of this extension. It comes across as spam extension behavior. I am NOT saying your extension is spam, but I am saying it comes across that way. It leaves a really bad impression. I would suggest adding a checkbox to disable uninstall for X amount of days, but not having it enabled by default. Do you really want to make it that hard for first-time users and people "just trying it out" to remove? What if your extension breaks a site or otherwise malfunctions? It should be a decision in the hands of users who KNOW they like the extension and longtime users, not people who saw it featured and thought it sounded cool. This is something else you can work on.
Until these things are fixed, I am not using this extension. It's saddening because I hoped that it would work, but the inability to easily uninstall for first-time users is just too infuriating for me. It goes against my beliefs, if you will. I hope you can iron our some of these wrinkles, because I bet it would be good.
EDIT: The developer has asked me to remove my addendum about how to uninstall the extension alleging correctly that it violates the EULA. I'm sure you can figure it out for yourself, if you would like to do that. This is, of course, assuming that you are on the internet, are intelligent enough to figure out how to use extensions, and, therefore, are capable of executing web searches in a space where the perceived far-reaching control of the developer is non-existent (also known as "reality"). Furthermore, let me add that I have only decided to take on this tone since the developer has decided to attack my character saying that, "If you don't have the patience to learn to use idderall [sic], you won't have the patience it takes to be distraction free." I personally do not consider this professional behavior. I kept all my comments in this review related the developer's work and not to their personality. If anything, the last paragraph could be taken as a form of compliment. However, it is obvious that this individual: 1) does not have the same respect for me that I had for them (despite my criticisms of this extension), and 2) has fundamentally mishandled and, thus, misunderstood my point entirely.
By the way, LeechBlock is doing a fantastic job of keeping me off Facebook despite the allegations that I "don't have the patience to learn," so you should look into that -- you Firefox user whom I don't know who understands my original point. It even lets me uninstall it if I so desire and there is no EULA. Furthermore, it has a 5 star rating average from a population of 395 users versus the 4 star average from a population of 22, which is what you see here. I just felt like sharing some stone-cold statistics and, in reality, that's all I need to share.
Learning to use Idderall
Thanks for your constructive criticism. If you don't have the patience to learn to use idderall, you won't have the patience it takes to be distraction free.
1) There is a cheat timer you have the option to drag into any toolbar that will show your cheat time is running out -- and thus indicating it is being used.
2) There is a desktop notification that notifies you when you have 5 minutes left, and 30 seconds left.
3) There are ways to unblock and uninstall it normally. That is what suffering the deterrent is for. You go to a blocked page and click "Give up, Suffer the Consequences"
4) Your instructions for uninstalling it go against the first point of the end-user agreement. Please edit your review to remove this section.
Great app with a problem Rated 5 out of 5 stars
This used to work great before this:
I had the whole week blocked with a 30 min per day allowed time for procrastination. I decided to decrease that time but as the app does not allow to change settings during the block period, the whole time in my case, I removed it from safe mode and installed back to block everything again but well, it blocks its own setup page now...

Life changing anti-procrastination, anti-distraction add-on Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I'm not exaggerating when I say that this add-on has changed my life. Seriously, I had the worst habit of procrastinating. If there was even a second of downtime, I was switching over and reading blogs, news sites, etc. It was an unconscious tic. The simple blocking mechanism by Idderall has allowed me to break this bad habit and I am exponentially more productive at work, and that much less stressed when I come home. It's really fantastic.
I don't really use the "consequences" side of it (my "consequence" is an email to my friend, who happens to be me), simply the thought of overriding the page block is enough shame for me.
If you're looking for an app that effectively blocks pages for a configurable time period, this add-on is for you.

It works good, but an options to add a site to the blocked list even if the block is active would be good (because I like to use it to block annoying sites that i never want to open, but if I can't add them on the fly :P )
But you can
If you click the idderall icon, then click "Add this Domain to Block Group" you can add a domain to a block group at any time. If the idderall icon is not visible, right click a toolbar and click customize and drag it in.

Very good! I get distracted easily and this is exactly what I need to make me work. One suggestion- could you work on the Google chrome port more and make it work with the task timer ad-don in chrome?

Really slick interface. It seems to be a very well-polished addon. I was a little surprised that the download was 7mb though.

Incredibly effective! Good dev support (instant reply) and working on 28.0a nightly.

This addon is outstanding, but I already take Ritalin. Will this addon still help?, Thanks !This review is for a previous version of the add-on (18.104.22.168-signed).

Damn you Idderall! It's like keeping drugs away from a recovering addict!
In all seriousness though, this is a great extension for when I really need to get work done. Somehow I always tell myself I'll just take a break for 30 seconds just to see if anything is happening on my favorite sites. This allows me my cheating time, but after I've used my minutes for the day, it keeps them away. I've only encountered very minor bugs with it, and the software is great.
Idderall = steroids for self-control Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Idderall increases productivity and reduces user procrastination by limiting access to procrastination gateway sites. Idderall is essentially steroids for those of us with self-control issues. Hopefully the developer will continue upgrading it to maintain compatibility with new FIrefox versions. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.90.1.1-signed).

This is by far the best extension to keep you focused. I have used a few other extensions, but they are just so easy to get around. Idderall is serious business, I love the depth put into it.This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.90.1.1-signed).

it'd be perfect if...
1.) You could name groups (I.E. Group 1 : Entertainment Sites| Entertainment Sites are Blocked.)
2). You could set custom block messages for each group so it will say whatever you want it to say when you go to a page that's part of a specific block group (I.E. Entertainment sites were blocked by [Name])
3.) If you were able to customize the Email message for the Email deterrent (IE [Name] has disobeyed your blocks) or something so that the Email message said whatever you wanted it to say
so yeah, just some customization stuff, I'll continue to use this, it's an excellent add-on
Good for me, but not yet perfect. Rated 4 out of 5 stars
Idderall is a really good tool to stop visiting annoying sites during exam session. But there are some things I suggest to improve. At first, choosing paypal deterrent is not working. It gives you error message "Error contacting server. Please check your connection and try again.". At second, then I have chosen to select email deterrent, it didn't work, it blocked idderall.com page by itself. At third, I suggest you to make an ability to rename groups. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.90.1.1-signed).
Thanks for your review! The paypal deterrent had a bug and was temporarily not working, but it is back working again now. Thanks for giving me notice of the issue! The other bugs I am unfamiliar with and unable to reproduce. Please e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you experience problems in the future. Thanks!
