nice tool!

would you please add response preview function - it is very useful when the server respond with image (captcha for example) or something other than text, without this function, I can not debug such APIs, it is painful really......

Very nice!

I wish there would be an option to have the addon analyze the current URLs that I'm browsing (instead of entering the URL in a separate field of the addon).

I'm using it for testing a JSON-based API and my experience is totally streamlined. One of the things I like the most is that it does not interfere with the main window and I can retrieve previous values just by clicking on the history entry. I don't find anything annoying on it and it saves me lots of time. Bravo!

Fantastic, I just found out i can increase history capacity by visiting about:config and changing extensions.httprequester.* options.
I think you should increase default values for these.

Good idea.

Thanks for the input. What do you think is a more reasonable value for the history capacity? I was trying to strike a balance to not overwhelm by keeping hundreds of history items (by default), but it could certainly be larger. (Feel free to reply to tommut@gmail.com)

Perfect, but please add an export to save requests in a file to share it with other developers

Works exactly as advertised, similarly to Postman for Chrome but with a nice response display panel. The ability to save and load requests is extra spiffy.

Good but not perfect Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Generally I like this add-on but there is a problem with parameters. You provide them, send e.g. POST request and they are appended to URL as query string which is NOT OK for POST. What is more they disappear from Parameters GUI area after sending request. Because of this I stopped using HttpRequester.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.0).

Thanks for taking the time to pass along that feedback. I hope to fix the issue with not remembering the query parameters in the next update.
Regarding the POST, it is valid to have URL parameters as part of a POST; to have them sent in the request body as a url-encoded form, you can click the 'Parameter Body' button in the Content tab. I realize that's not super-intuitive. I'll see what I can do to improve that experience.

UserName/Passwd Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Is there a way I can add username/password to a request?

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.5).

Version 2.0 allows you to set Basic Auth credentials

In version 2.0 you can now set the User/Password to use with Basic Authentication. Pressing the "Authentication..." button will display fields for entering user/password.

Hey dude, done GREAT work!!!

Like the request history and editing headers in the table view and the raw view too.
BUT I am missing a toolbar button! Would you please add it? Thanks!

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.4).

toolbar button

Version 1.0.5 added the toolbar button. Thanks for the suggestion!

Perfect Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Perfect for testing request to be made in development of mobile applications.
Would be nice if the button was a Toolbar button instead of a statusbar one, because in this way breakes the layout of the statusbar o.O

Love this tool. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I searched for this exact thing as a desktop program and couldn't find a simple one. I tired other FF addons and this one is much better because of the History of URL it keeps and that you can save are request with it's URL for later us in the addon. Highly recommended!

its good, but it can be much better, i mean, the gui is awfull :)
(take a look at chrome's extension POSTMAN)
4/5 from me, coz its really usefull !

Thanks for the (positive? mostly?) review. You think that a developer who deals with low-level HTTP requests is going to be good at UI design??? Come on! :)

- Why it is not possible to view a raw request BEFORE firing it?

-"Edit raw request" only for history requests, even if no requests is selected.

- Request type dropdown + several buttons for popular GET/POST/PUT is not good UI. Please find a smarter solution for this.

- key-value pairs on Tab Parameters are only added as get parameters to the url, even if POST is selected. Then if it is only for get Parameters, why accordingly not update the URL line?

- Can add same key-value pairs multiple times to the URL, but not in Parameters tab.

- key-value pairs lines aren't sortable. Even if it doesn't make much sense, it should be able for a testing tool. :-)
