  • Not exceptional, but does what it says.
Why not 4/5 stars? Because it doesn't seem to handle cases where the tab bar is not at the top. I use Tab Utilities Fixed to put the tab bar at the bottom, but then it doesn't hide after a delay. When tab bar is at the top, things work as advertised.

  • pls update for ff57~
  • Need Support with Firefox57
  • I have this installed on Fx 54 (Canonical build) and Fx 52 ESR on Ubuntu 14.04 . I It works great on both of them.

It disables multiprocessing, but I am not convinced of the advantages of multiprocessing (*not* to be confused with multithreading, a good thing.)

I need the extra space on the small screen of my Linux laptop, so I am grateful this extensions stil exists.

It would be great if you could add SeaMonkey support!!
  • It is true, you just win milimiters, at least on my Firefox the title bar still appears so you do not win that space.
  • Excellent
  • It is good addon but it makes my firefox crashes if a webpage has a pop-up window. Hope the developer can fix it.
  • I disabled the title bar and installed this addon hoping to have more content space. Nut whenever you hide the tab bar, the title bar appears. Why would it even do that ?
  • Use it on a mid-2010 MacBook Pro 13", with the latest version of the browser as of 5/21/2017. Works like a charm. Gives me more webpage and less browser, without going full screen. Brilliant!
  • It can autohide the tabbar or toggle it. Though the shortcut to toggle can be changed, it is limited and can't use character key. It'd be great if ` key can be used.
  • I am anti-keyboard. I only use mouse. I don't like that tabs reappear when a new tab opens. That should definitely be optional, not default. The most serious shortcoming is the lack of a toggle button to place on the toolbar. I am constantly having to go into the View menu then go down to uncheck the tabbar item. Ridiculous! I don't want keyboard shortcuts because I dont want a keyboard, ever. Of course, I am typing this with On-Screen Keyboard (lying in bed in the dark. No desire to look for a keyboard and reach over and push keys, especially since that would mean turning on the lamp and disturbing my eyes and mind). I look forward to these issues being addressed so that I can return here to wholeheartedly give you 5 stars and donate. I only donate $ to projects that hit it out of the park. Btw, I am extraordinarily wealthy.
  • It hides the Tab bar and uncovers the Title Bar. So I still have a unwanted bar across the top. WOOT!! App Fail
  • when the tabbar hidden, the titlebar is showing :(
  • Firefox allowed placing the tab bar at the bottom of the browser. Has anyone recompiled Firefox to do this? 5 stars because it does what's advertised, but hard to use autohide in Ubuntu Linux.
  • This add-on is perfect. I often have 60 to 80 tabs open at any given time. Screen real estate can be a big issue at times and this really changes things for my everyday experience. Thank you so much! The only thing I think that might make this better is if you added another keybind to toggle the state of the Auto Hide feature.

I often go through periods where tab switching is rather minimal. Other times I am constantly switching tabs and could really use the extra web page space. So instead of having to switch the tab bar on/off constantly during this time, an Auto Hide toggle would be the perfect answer.
  • When I click the install button I get a popup window from the url bar saying, "The addon cannot be installed...it appears to be corrupt."
  • This extansion hide the unneeded bar, thus I have more beautiful firefox. But, it need to be updated, please.
  • Flawless execution, no compatibility issues.
  • Options not fully working with some addons/configurations, but the hiding works well; very useful in case other extensions bring a broken autohide or when the tab width changes on hide/show (often happen in vertical tabbars, with the hotkey doesn't).
  • Please implement two options.

1.When user navigating then pop up the tab bar(with x delay to hide itself again.)

2.When user close tab then pop up the tab bar (with x delay to hide itself again.)

3.When user move the cursor on the top of the browser then pop up the tab bar.

Can you please implement above options
    it's pretty awesome idea.
  • For some reason when I move the cursor up to type something in the address bar it wakes the tabs, which is really annoying. I just want to be rid of the buggers. :-(

I'd give this application 1 or 2 stars, but I gather from the other comments that this is not happening to everyone. But it makes it pretty useless for me. I want those things out of the way and not popping back on me every time I access my bookmarks, address field, buttons, or windows.

Firefox seriously blows these days. Unfortunately all the browsers are starting to blow. :-/
  • Huh?
Need a little step-by-step for getting a hotkey to work with the hide task. (Like identifying where the is.)
  • Nice!
It would be great to also have a transition :-)
