I'm so sad that this is longer compatible with the latest version of Firefox. I'm also curious why Firefox even made this a necessary plugin. A window with only one tab has no need to display that tab. If Firefox wants to be all slick and modern, such logical UI tweaks must be implemented as part of the core. This is one add-on I'll severely miss.
I HATE! tabs and this add-on was great. It allowed me to hide the tab when only one was open. Not only did I not have to navigate around a tab, but the space the totally useless tab took was not lost. The new FireFox 5.7 does not support this add-on. I may go back to SeaMonkey if the "Hide Tabs When Only One Is Open" add-on does not return. Even Internet Explorer does not force tabs. It seems each iteration of FireFox adds more junk and makes it less desirable as my primary browser.
Отличное было дополнение!
very needed extension, i hate the tab bar
Worked amazingly with pre-Firefox57. Please update the add-on to be compatible with WebExtensions to allow us to continue using this extension going forward.
Does what it says...or used to. No longer. PLEASE update for FF Quantum! I tend to use new windows, not tabs, so this is one of the most important add-ons I have!
Well, had, since it doesn't work anymore... :(
LOVE LOVE LOVE this extension. It gives you back all that wasted space at the top of your screen. Vital on a MacBook Air 11"
As per Title, will this addon support "WebExtension for Firefox 57" soon ??
Like this addon very much...will there be a comparable version for Firefox 57
exactly what i needed...perfect
Does what it says with no fuss and, in doing so, eliminates a completely unecessary and intrusive annoyance. I hate the way tabs have been forced on us. Their most helpful uses seem redundant to what is already offered by MS Windows and Linux desktops.
When the "designers" at Mozilla made tabbed browsing "MANDATORY" I thought how stupid a design decision it was to completely ignore those of us that do not like tabs.
They take up precious screen space with information already view able.
Thanks for this plugin, I REALLY appreciate it.
i expect to get full screen look alike, but this will do, thanks
Ich arbeite hier unter Win10 und einem aktuellen FF, ich habe nur einen Tab offen, der bleibt aber bestehen. Die Erweiterung funzt nicht.
Works fine together with the "Beyond Australis" add-on. Currently I'm using both, so when there is only one open tab, everything (tab+navigation+bookmarks toolbars) stays hidden. This leaves so much more space for the web page to display. Awesome!
Sometimes you want to see the tab, for example to drag and drop the tab to another window. Currently you're forced to open a second dummy tab in order to see the hidden one. It would be nice to have a shortcut that toggles single-tab visibility.
That's a good idea, but I won't be adding any features to any of my extensions. Mozilla is going to break all extensions in the next few months (when they deprecate XUL add-ons which this one is) and I will stop supporting them completely at that time.
I'm a big fan of the FF tree-tabs plugin. It's basically why I use FF instead of Chrome. But it was really annoying me that the tree bar showed up even if I only had one tab open.
I really didn't think that Hide Tab Bar With One Tab would be compatible with tree-tabs, but I tried it just in case. It works perfectly.
Tree Style Tab 0.17.2016031101
Hide Tab Bar With One Tab 1.5.1-signed.1-signed
simple and easy
Does exactly what it says on the tin :)
Nice, but this lacks the ability to automatically add a button for "Open New Tab" to the toolbar, which Epiphany does.
I love this add-on! I tend to like thing "the way they always were" and this add-on lets me have no visible tab bar when one is not needed. FYI: It seems to work well with Firefox Developer Edition 42.0a1 (2015-08-11)--on Linux, anyway!
You can't open a new tab or use buttons in the tab bar when tab bar is hidden. Show them somewhere else please.
work great on firefox 38
If the title bar still takes up space negating this addon, that's the fault of the window manager and nothing can change that (cough cough Windows).
Serves my purpose well on Linux, and may be useful to others.
I find it useless because when you hide the tab bar, the title bar appears so you get the same space for the browser content. It should let maximize the content (html) space.
