The extension works well most of times, however on OSX Lion with Firefox 37.0.1 it does not allow me to hide the nav bar when in full screen.

Useful but not so reliable Rated 3 out of 5 stars

The keyboard shortcut doesn't work very well: you often have to press multiple times until the navigation is shown.

Works for all of 2 seconds until you switch/close tabs and then the nav bar comes back automatically until you F2 again. Absolutely pointless. Stop breaking firefox, give us the option to hide navigation bar in the same right-click menu as hide menu bar and hide bookmarks toolbar. This add-on is a waste of time.

Forced to give a 1/5 star as ZERO is not an option but this add-on does not work if the nav bar can come back on it's own every time you click another tab!!

Simple add-on that still works and does what it says after 3,5 years from its last release!

Like this add-on, but really need to allow for sensitivity adjustment. As poster below points out, navigating around the tab bar or bookmarks bar in the auto-hide mode, the nav bar keeps hiding/unhiding, which is somewhat annoying. Otherwise, very nice.

great extension!
-1 for the autohide feature without transition or something like that, which made it strange to use.

Very good work, thanks!
May I suggest an additional feature?
If we can hide navigation bar automatically by site, that would be more useful.
for example we dont want to see urls when browsing Google services

I very much like and find useful this 'hide' addon. Thankyou.
The only thing I see, I would like changed is that under 'auto hide' state, the 'un-hide' should not happen when hovering over tabs. hide / un-hide is annoying as tabs keep 'moving'.. lolo
Thanks,
Landis.

BUT there are two things I would rather it could do. As mentioned in other reviews, it would be nice for the navigation bar to appear upon opening a new tab. My biggest concern with this add on is how the page is completely shifted downward when the navigation bar appears. Instead, the navigation bar should lay over the page, without pushing the page down. The way it shifts the page down upon appearing can get quite dizzying!

[Ctrl] + [L] Rated 5 out of 5 stars

What about addding a timer (wait 5secs after pressing enter etc) and overwriting the default behavior of [Ctrl] + [L] when navigation bar is hidden?

Firefox should come with this Rated 5 out of 5 stars

The auto-hide feature is exactly what I have been looking for. Saves a lot of space und unneccessary information when browsing. Works just like hiding the windows task bar, only for the navigation bar. If you need it back, just move the mouse to the tab area and there it is.

An irritating issue Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I tried using this addon a long time ago and it was really buggy, so I removed it. Now I've decided to come back and try it out and it only has one issue left:

With the addon enabled and the address bar hidden, the Alt+D keyboard shortcut opens up a new dialog window to open a web resource instead of expanding the address bar and sending me into the address input field. That wouldn't be much of an issue, but I'm an InstantFox user, and that new dialog window doesn't support InstantFox functionality. This matter could be resolved by allowing the Alt+D shortcut to perform its job and putting the cursor in the normal address bar as it should.
Please address this issue.

I also wish the address bar would briefly show itself upon clicking a link, but that is not crucial.

This add-on is really good, except for one point (explaining the only 4/5 stars).
When a new tab is opened with the keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+T), the navigation bar is hidden, which is quite annoying when I try to paste a url directly in the nav bar (when openning a tab with the (+) button, this is possible because the mouse is over the tab bar, but I'd rather use keyboard shortcuts), could it be possible that the nav bar is shown and active (with the prompt flashing) when a new tab is opened by the keyboard shortcut?
Thanks

new tab titles dont work Rated 3 out of 5 stars

-its a good, useful add on, but it creates some problems in my case the tab names dont work properly, i ony see "new tab" instead of the tab´s name. I disabled this and the titles worked again. please fix the bugs, Ill give you five stars when it does not kill tab´s names.

Older version works properly.

Seems to be incompatible with third party toolbars like Diigo. It keeps un-hiding the navigation bar when I try to select a bookmark. I hope it can be fixed. Until then, I will disable it.
