Not available for Firefox 38.0
It was excellent for 3.6 that I still used (mostly because I hated FF 4 UI [but then saw 26] and more importantly, last compilations of SwiftFox (CPU optimized (AMD/Intel, x86/x64) were of 3.6 series - and it worked.
But SOMEONE fork it or AUTHOR upgrade it. I'm now trying with simple edit of install.rdf with MaxVersion set to 27.*.*
Of course, if no official help, I *can* have same functionality with keysnail extension - the code is there (builtin) and even hides *title bar*.
But I guess 4 stars for it working on version it was made for. Only 3 if there had been any other serious lack (well, you should be able to set the hotkey with ANY modifier-combo and ANY key - so three stars. Fix these and you have 5 from me. With 800x600 (Asus EeePc netbook) it was superior.
doesn't work, completely with Nightly 22, BUT... disable all but location bar and in conjunction with HideBookmarksBar by Felix Kloft and it Rocks.
Ctrl+Alt+B bookmarks, Crtl+Alt+N navigation bar and i have a big development space..
oh, you have to decompress and edit the install.rdf to change the MaxVersion number as this apparently has not been updated since ver. 3.x ..
For Firefox 9. http://ach.xxxxxxxx.jp/HideGUIbars_FF9.html
alfbar1 My pleasure.
It works correctly and it's very useful. Although it could also hide a title bar.
This is the greatest tool i've ever used for this. It works in FF 8, you just tell it not to hide the tab bar and it'll work like a charm.
Really great tool! I hope there will be an update for Firefox 5.0.I really miss having Hide Gui Bars after the upgrade to 5.0.
This is a GREAT add-on! Use it all the time! works flawlessly... until I updated to Firefox 4. :( Add-on no longer works. Please update for new version. This is the best add-on out there - great screen real-estate maximizer!! Thanks for writing this. Can't wait for an update! (so valuable, I might have to downgrade back to fox3 until then!!
Thanks cage, my 5 stars to cage.
working great, thanx
Es muy interesante esta extensión, ya que provee un poco más de espacio para la navegación. Sería muy bueno que lo actualizaran la FF4.
I am giving full star rating but i have some problems!
1st. I want to make "open/close" the pluggin only with one button "ALT", but i can't.. Can you fix it?
2nd. When i press "CTRL + T" It opens me a new tab right? But when the new tab opens, the things that i have hidden, shows.. Why ? I don't this..
I want the Menu bar to be hidden, and i want to open it when i press ALT, that is the summary..
can you do it or you can't ;)
And still nice Addon, you got 5 star from me for it!
ياليت يكون هناك خاصية الاظهار عن طريق مرور الماوس والاخفاء تلقائيالوكانت بهذه الخاصيه لكان التقييم 5/5
It's not a good idea to have this extension turned on just after you install it, 'cos you don't know how to turn this off unless you had read about it before.
Apart from that it is a clean, simple and extrematelly useful extension. Thank you very much.
it is definitely very handy, and I love the option of the overlink tooltip, so chromy ;)
but I miss the option of having a bar always hidden. I used to have my menubar always hidden since I'm using the CompactMenu2 button, and everytime the bars show I get the empty menubar appearing. and if I don't select the "hide menubar" option in this extension, my empty menubar will be left always shown. would you please consider adding such option?
An icon equivalent to Ctrl+Shift+A required to place it on (All in One Side Bar)
I love this. It gives more viewable screen space and still shows the toolbars I want. F11 gets rid of all of them. Thank you.
It's really good because i don´t need 2 or more addons to get rip of all the sometimes useless GUI stuff
No it doesn't, genius. Unlike F11, this won't hide the taskbar or status bar. Need this for 4
lol. F11 does the same thing
This is an awesome addon. I liked it very much. Is there anyway I can hide the title bar using this addon I am using Firefox 3.6.8?
When using Hide GUI bars extension with Add-on compatibility Reporter extension it works great with Firefox 4.0b3 and 4.0b4pre. It also fixes Firefox 3.6 bug when customized menubar doesn't hide: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=538580 .
Great Addon. Thanks
When in hidden mode it hides the specified elements. And unhides them on a new tab until some page is loaded on the new tab.
Only thing missing is tabbar on top ( which is coming in FF4 )
