This is soo good (& it was the 1st one to work out all the kinks that i can't give it 4 stars even though there is a bug with the latest edition)

BUG with Version 1.0.2 = OS Taskbar position (determines if double clicking maximizes or click and drag moves the window) is always at the bottom even if you select it to be at the top.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.2).

Tks! - Space-for-OS-Taskbar-position working well for me.

I can't reproduce the problem described. (I tested using "Autohide taskbar" in Win XP - I Used ver 1.02 and also new 1.1.2)
Just in case, please let me remind that this advanced-user feature covers only special cases when FF maximizes to full screen hiding the system taskbar. And It only leaves "a tiny space of 1 pixel" at the user-desired location, that is useful to activate the System taskbar.
If you still have a problem with it, please file it with more info in the support page. Tks! :-)

(Also, Please let me mark for deletion your duplicated msg about this bug)

Windows7 AeroSnap Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I wish this worked with Win7 - ie a button or a blank space that you could Grab to move the window - areosnap dock undock left right dock etc, all the things you can do with 7 when you have a titlebar to grab.....

Can you do anything to make this work?

Until then I have to stop using it, as I love being able to just grab my FF window and dock it to the left or just max/unmax by moving it to the top of the screen

Apart from that it's a nice addon

With 1.0.0.1 an annoy bug in previous version is gone. And it work fine with StrataBuddy's "Tabs on top". :) It can hide menu bar now, but the menu bar with be shown at firefox startup. And I can't drag the window by drag the tab bar. Perhaps it is due to I don't installed Tab Mix Plus as the options page says. Anyway, it still an excellent add-on.

FF3.6's bug in Autohide menubar FIXED!

Hi.
- I finally solved the FF's autohide bug and submitted a specific addon for this: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/89458 (I may include in HCTP also as an option, but I think a separate addon is much better, in order to avoid bad interference with future fixed versions of FF)
- About dragging: you can drag via tabbar background. It's better to avoid usings the actual tabs or buttons there. (doubleclick problem in tabbar is solved also, and will come in next version soon)

doesn't work properly with firefox 3.6.
foxiFrame is much better, it doesn't interfere with hiding menubar, have less bugs, and enables putting window controls on tabbar to use with "Tabs on top" extension

Глючно работает в ФФ 3.6. Иногда заголовок окна так и не скрывается, не помогает включение-выключение плагина, а потом ни стого ни с сего может снова заработать.

I still don't get how to let my auto hide taskbar pop up...is there a way?
The settings talk about an auto setting, but when I move the cursor down to the bottom of the screen, nothing happens..

Otherwise I love it! great addon!

I found a solution for the problems in FF3.6!

For not being able to hide the menubar: Just add this to Stylish (without quotes):
"#toolbar-menubar { display: none !important; }"

If your taskbar is covered up, just minimize the window then maximize it.

To the developer: please add an option to put the min./max./close buttons on the tab bar, because I use the tabs on top extension.

Working perfectly with FF3.6, people complaining about not being able to hide their menu bar are doing some wrong.
I have a lot of extensions and I'm using a theme as well and it's working perfectly for me.
I'm also using the Add-on Compatibility Reporter.

How it is working on FF3.6 with the Strata40 theme without aero.

For all of you on FF3.6/3.7a1pre/3.7a2pre who install it and get a forced menu bar at the top, there is a workaround:

1. Have installed the version of firefox of your choice that you actually want to have work with Hide Caption Titlebar plus. Make sure you have uninstalled Hide Caption Titlebar Plus though.

2. Then, install nightly tester tools.

3. Then you'll need to download the installer files for Firefox 3.5.7 and then the version of your choice that you actually want to install, in my case 3.7a2pre.

4. Then once you have both installers, uninstall the version of firefox you currently have installed, but DO NOT check "remove customizations".

5. Then install FF3.5.7, and install Hide Caption Titlebar Plus(smart). It will work flawlessly.

6. Then uninstall FF3.5.7 but DO NOT check "remove customizations".

7. Then install the version of firefox of your choice. When you start up for the first time, Hide Caption Titlebar plus will be disabled, so you'll need to open up your addons box and at the bottom right corner click "Override all compatibility".

8. Done. It should work perfectly now just as it did in 3.5.7. At the time of writing this, this is the only way to get this addon working properly in FF3.6 and later.

Note that this does NOT fix glass incompatibility! It just makes it work the way it does in FF3.5.7.

It conflicts with FF 3.6 when you would try to hide/show w/ ALT key the menu bar.. But, I used this one well w/ FF 3.5

This extension works great. I just wish it would recognize the option in 3.6 to hide the menu bar. I am also using the Personal Menu extension that can hide the menu bar and I have to invoke the option there.

This addons is awesome!
But there is a little problem using FF 3.6. The close/maximize/minimize buttons are moved to the Menu bar, so you cannot hide the Menu bar too. Could you move it to the Navigation bar (as Firefox 3.5)?

Thank you

I wish it had the options for maximize/minimize/close buttons to be removed and keyboard shortcuts configured instead.. Ruins the look of my theme..

Glasser Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Please add support for glassers. No matter which glasser I use (even the one in StrataBuddy), when I maximise the window using Hide Caption Titlebar Plus, the Glass effect dissapears, and all you are left with is a clear background.
I would be in love with this add-on if it supported Glass effects, but for now, I will have to leave it disabled.

Perfect! The closest thing to FF4 if you get Strata40, Hide Menubar and Omnibar, simply outstanding!

For those fretting over the forced menu bar, just download an addon that hides it. I myself am using "Personal Menu", which removes the menu bar and gives you a couple of buttons instead.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3895

Works perfectly fine with this mod.

As for this mod itself, I love it. Brilliant for those using Personas. One little suggestion though. When you have the "Never" option on, with the custom caption bar and such right? Could you include an option for that custom caption bar to appear when maximised as well (and of course an option to hide the mini buttons when the custom caption bar is on)? I really like the look of it yet it only appears when Firefox is windowed.
