After google lost it's real-time, this came in handy. I don't use the search bar, just the address bar, so I made heapr the keyword URL:about:config, find "keyword.URL", and make the string value:http://www.heapr.com/#l=web&q=Just like old times :)

(I just use the link in my bookmarks bar, not this add-on, anymore. And Duck Duck Go, but Heapr can be great!)

Todd 221 describes this well. It works like the normal Google search engine in the Search Bar and has the same Google Suggestions, but when you execute the search, it takes you to the heapr site instead of Google. There's not any benefit there unless you need to refine your search--that's where its faster because you get *Results* as you type instead of (or in addition to, if you like) Suggestions. Thus, you save time because you not only don't have to hit the Enter key, you don't have to reselect the Search Box to add/subtract/change search terms. What I'd like to see next is the ability to automatically have the links you click on open in a new tab.

Just to (hopefully) clear up any confusion from the description, this is a bit like Google Suggest, but with Results. (Google Suggest is the feature where you get live search suggestions in a drop-down menu, live while you're typing).

Instead of just Suggestions, it gives Google RESULTS live while typing each letter, not just suggestions for what to do a search on.

It also works for Google Images, Videos (and Twitter) searches. It is VERY fast (thanks to Google's servers).

It should be noted that this 'plug-in' just adds a search engine to Firefox's Search Bar (for convenience). You can use/try this search engine at the heapr.com website without installing this.

Wonderfully made. so fast

Are you kidding me? Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Awful.
I would give zero stars if I could. It's about the most annoying add-on I've ever tried out. After one test search I was more than done with it.
I guess some people now have a 1/2 second attention span and can't stand it when they use a keyboard and flashy things don't appear on screen.

But - hey - don't take my word for. Try it online!
