About this extension
Removes filtered content by hiding the offending HTML elements on the page. In most cases this should still give you a seamless (and happy and healthy) experience.
Currently supports old reddit, new reddit, Youtube, and some parts of Twitter. Also works with Firefox for Android, but unfortunately Mozilla has limited extension support on its Android version for now. You'll have to install the nightly build and jump through some Mozilla-imposed hoops to make it work.
Plans for Facebook, mainstream news outlets, hacker news, and more.
Filter and category customizations also coming.
We want people to choose when they consume certain types of media, content, text, or discussion that is prone to leading to anxiety, stress, frustration, sadness, or other negative symptoms. We all have a right to decide when we want to consume certain content and Healthy Surf aims to let you browse the internet with peace of mind for however long you like.
We do not aim to silence, censor, or filter any specific ideas or groups of people. Any blocking of keywords or subreddits is not an endorsement or disapproval of the goals, community, or representation of that subreddit or keyword or its opposing keywords and subreddits. Filters are made based on wide set of criteria, the most common of which is whether the content is commonly hostile, aggressive, political, confrontational, triggering, negative, snide, or anything other than happy, loving, and accepting. Inclusion in a filtering list does not imply any or all of the above adjectives apply.
If you believe there is problematic or discriminatory filtering occurring, please contact me at the email address listed for support. We support the rights and speech of every person and group of regardless of race, gender, age, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or disability. We do not discriminate or have filters based on any of these categories.
