I'm currently in my last month of Research for my Master Thesis and today my default browser namely Mozilla Firefox just upgraded itself to version no. 12.0. Which, as I forgot, cancelled all my previous tabs of undergoing reading, and before I knew it, I've restarted the whole system without having my previous browsing session restored back in good old' tabs. Now I have to browse for them way back in the History pages ever since I added one after another for the purpose of having them one by one assessed as soon as I found the time for. Just imagine if I'd only had the chance to experiment this GreatSummary Add-On - maybe then I wouldn't have had so much to lose and my Thesis Paper would have been already more finished by now ! And just thinking back on all those paper term exams which held me stay awake so many nights to complete whatever I've encountered that had to be eye-processed to fuel a reseach spine ! Anyways, I'll rate this one all 5 stars until I'll have it tried, after (I hope) you will consider to upgrade it or at least make it available as it used to be, so that it will help further on students like me, or even more, (young new) professionals who (just started to) set foot in the research stage of their interest fields, because that's what's coming next ! So even if the update will not be available (for my current research) before the end of this month, it will surely come in handy to all of us out there who will still have to pursue their impossible-to-count reading online !
Thank you very much in advance,
Wendy Laura Cinta (Landscape Architect in Planning Research - for now)
Very simple system for finding the key bits of a web page. I use it all the time for pages for pages with lots of comments.
Very simple add-on. Just opens a new tab to redirect you to greatsummary.com with the url that you're on. I didn't know this website existed before this add-on. This is very useful for summarizing lengthy blogs to decide if you want to read them or not.
A simple extension - it only adds some menu options for the Great Summary service, but for someone that reads a lot of in-depth webpages, this would be very useful for condensing that information.
Installs and works as advertised. I installed it and tested it in Netscape Navigator 9.0b1 without any issues. Summaries work better on pages with more text but it is nice to get a quick summary of a page to decide if I want to read it in more depth or not.
