This Theme Saved My Life Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Unfortunately, I'm only 1/2 kidding...

I respectfully want to correct a misguided perception and credit the developer Aronnax properly... the GrApple themes are not pseudo-Safari themes... they are OS X themes. Anyone can simply copy something, but Aronnax has not done this. What Aronnax has done is create a theme that makes Fx look OS X native and has subtly and with great eye left certain important Firefox resources intact, so you know you're still using Firefox.

when Fx 3 came out I remember being so relieved the UI looked so much better... it looked a little less like the port it really is, and wasn't such an eyesore amidst the elegant OS X. But soon it's overly-rounded buttons, that even when selected to display as small size were still too big, and the gigantic waste of space between the top of the Fulsome*-Bar and the top edge of the browser window was beginning to look like a cheap piece of tin chucked in a pile silver. And then there was the new feature that'd suck up almost 1/2 of the Fulsome-Bar (on a laptop with small screen anyway) everytime you had a secure connection. AGH. All the while, Safari was becoming so sleek and slim and hot... and finally was beginning to get it's act together... it was tempting me... but it was the addons that kept me w/ Fx.

I had tried other OS X-styled themes in desperation to lose the metal braces feeling in my mouth that Firelight leaves... but each and everyone had some glaring ugly styling inconsistency or hole. I finally gave up.

Then one day, I was perusing add-ons for something else, and I saw these themes named after apples. Yummy. Crunchy. Delicious. Who could resist? They looked good in the pics but so did all the other Safari-wanna bes I tried. I had little expectation but tried it none the less.

Oh my God. Any one of the GrApple themes was exactly what Fx should look to fit in properly in OS X. Mozilla's got a boatload of money - they should have promptly hired Aronnax and snapped up these themes for 3.5. I know UI only gets redone with every major release, but this could have been a nice special exception.

The theme walks on water - it turns add-on icons in the toolbar into actual buttons! (The only time this is problematic is when an add-on is already styled with a toolbar button - but easily worked around by decompressing said add-on's chrome JAR and with nothing but the Preview app and Archive utility, changing a few things up)

If you want Firefox, but you want a browser that fits with OS X, hands down this is your theme. Even if you're looking for pseudo-Safari, you'll likely be so impressed so you won't even notice or care it's not.

*see http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/fulsome for the meaning of fulsome, you'll likely find it an amazingly accurate descriptor

Looks great, just one minor issue... Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This theme would have gotten a full five stars from me, if not for one very minor issue. The status bar at the bottom of the window is a bit too small, and the bottom of my status icons get cut off. Just an extra four pixels in height would be fine. Other than that minor gripe, this entire series of themes is excellent. I've come to like the look of them much more than the default.

A+, a thousand times better than the atrocious default Mac theme. The developer is very responsive to questions in the GrApple thread on the mozillaZine forums too, so it's easy to get support. :)

ignore anything less than 5 stars as critiques will be by those on windows. mozilla aesthetically butchered FF3 in Leopard, GrApple returns it.
thank you.

I like it, but I'm just not feeling the home button.
The split in the middle really annoys me.

Hope you can design a different home button...perhaps solid black.

Excellent OS integration Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Excellent OS Integration. My only complaint is that, for whatever reason, the StumbleUpon toolbar icons are not properly themed, which is unfortunate, since it is one of my favorite add-ons...

Perfect. This should be the default Rated 5 out of 5 stars

alright, seriously? this is how firefox should have been released. I love the work that went into the default firefox theme, but if it ain't broke dont fix it.

this theme does absolutely everything I want. It turns firefox into the safari replacement we were all praying for.

now if only ffx used the keychain....

Minor quirks, otherwise gorgeous Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is gorgeous for the metallic look in Leopard. My only annoyance would be that there's no visual feedback as to which search engine we're using on the top-right. As much as I love the magnifying glass icon, I find it a hassle to have to double check each time for which search engine is in use (especially when there's query text in there).
