This extension is great. Please upgrade to Firefox Quantum.
Love this extension. I use it to monitor our dynamically changing landing pages. It would be great if the extension could handle lazy loading images - by making the extension scroll the page.
Thank you developer for this great extension! It fast and simple, and works overall great, although I found some minor issues:
1. In case if some url is unavailable for specified processing time, the app makes a snapshot of previous opened page. (Perhaps It is not that critical because it can be traced it in the log file)
2. I don't know if it is really possible, but it would be great if the app automatically closed or blocked all these popups on many websites, such as "hot offers", "subscriptions", "cookies info", and so on...
I am not able to understand why the captured screenshot shows white background in lower portion of it.
UPDATE: I found the reason, it was because the background image I am trying to capture is of small size that is why on rest of the screenshot it shows white color :)
Simple to get going(instructions below based on a Mac installation;
1. Install as ad-on
2. Make a .txt file with a list of urls you want to take a screenshot of like: http://google.com
3. Select 'grab them all' from the tools menu
4. Select the .txt file you created earlier
5. Select a destination directory where you want the screeenshots to go
6. Select 'lets go!'
The screenshots will be placed in the directory you selected earlier.
***Many thanks for making this ad-on really, really, great! Thank You***
Tool run really fast
I have one suggestion, screenshots that are generated to have file names like 001.jpg 002.jpg 003.jpg...etc.
I cant sort file names now..
Very simple solution and saves so much time! Thank you...
Thanks to the developer :)
I'm stuck at the step where you upload the list of sites to by scanned. I have a list of URLs in TXT format but when I upload it, the system says zero records found even though there are hundreds. Also, there doesn't seem to be an update and I can't find a way to contact the developer on their site.
UPDATE: I finally figured out that the encoding has to be set to UTF-8 but that was nowhere in any instructions. Also, now I have to run it twice to get it started.
Each URL on list should start with http:// otherwise it is ignored.
Can you give me more information instead of saying it should be used by advanced users? How do you use the program? That was not a helpful reply.
Desktop screenshot tool that I was using couldn't capture pages that I had to login. This one fixed that problem.
I have used it for around 20 sites at a time. The only problem is with the documentation, the instructions say "To configure Grab Them All select Tools->Extensions->GrabThemAll->Preferences." This is not where I found to save settings, it is in The Add-ons Manager, found by typing "about:addons" in the FireFox address bar, then find the Add-on "Grab them all", and click on the Options button. Hope this helps future users! -[Doris]
I must write this review to you because you really save me a lot of time!
I just print 579 web pages with one operation of grab them all. Further point is this addon gets automatic filter of duplicate web sites(address), thus I get 440 successful web pages screenshots. I dont need to delete those duplicate pages myself. A little trick to other users is if you get a lot of links, say over 100, divide your links into different text file; my method is put fewer than 100 links in one text file and then load all files (the first option in grab them all menu) one by one so that I can screen shot 579 links with only one operation. This is really awesome. I cannot find this function in other browsers. Please keep on the good works!
Great add-on, Been looking for this kind of script that works on firefox for a long time. Thanks.
This is a marvelous plugin, which we use a lot. It works well for huge URL lists too.
When sites have no background color set (i.e. a transparent background) the screenshots made by Grab Them All will have a black background. You can solve this by going to the "email@example.com" dir in the extension dir of Firefox and changing the following line: "box.getWidth(), box.getHeight(), 'rgb(0,0,0)');" into "box.getWidth(), box.getHeight(), 'rgb(255,255,255)');" in chrome/grabthemall/content/js/GrabThemAll_ScreenShot.js Restart your browser and you will have white instead of black backgrounds in your screenshots.
It fails with huge pages, but I like that you can choose how long to wait for the process to complete and that when the time expires it generates a report. My error was [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nsIDOMCanvasRenderingContext2D.drawWindow]" nsresult: "0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://grabthemall/content/js/GrabThemAll_ScreenShot.js :: anonymous :: line 49" data: no].
Great addon, it can save a lot of time.
The only thing I'm missing - I'd like my Greasemonkey scripts working when capturing page. Greasemonkey script shows some important information at the page and now I have to use PageSaver (it allows to make one screenshot at the time but it executes Greasemonkey script).
Also it would be nice just type URLs in textarea, not select the file
This addon is unique about screenshot addons being able to "batch" the shots...
Only if the author of GTA and author of "Bookmark Previews" can co-decide on URL based names, GTA would be the perfect companion for BP and similar addons...
About the flash error: Flashs with the attribute "wmode='transparent'" works fine, flashs without this attribute doesn't appear. I made a small fix for it (5 lines of code) and I'm sending it to your e-mail. Hope it helps you.
It would be SOOOO nice if we could schedule the grabbing, or start it through a command line (I'm using Windows here). So we could use this great tool to keep our own web-site archive.
The best of all, is that the "grabbing" window doesn't need to be active! With my current "grabbing" software I am unable to use my PC for about 10 minutes while it does the job. :-(
And finally, congratulations for making it open source! So everybody can adapt it for own-needs: http://code.google.com/p/grabthemall/
If we could find a way to use it together with AdBlock.. ehehehehhee
Thanks man! Great job!
I really love this tool, but the screenshots have a coded name like "aHR0cDovL3d3dy5jeWNsaW5ndGVhbS1yaWV0dmVsZC5ubC8N.jpg". Make this something like http_www_test_com_page1_html !
I am impressed. This tool is AWESOME. Thank you
very useful, however, i notice that it gets stuck
i'm running it in a computer with 4 gb of ram. have tried in ff 3 with no other add-ons and get this symptom of it...getting stuck...
thanks anyway, hope you can improve it
Can you send me more detailed information? How many url's you put to G.T.A. What ff and GTA you use, etc.
