Working perfectly! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

From my perspective this addon is working perfectly. I've had no difficulties and it's fast. I will try it on some other systems here too. Thanks!

Too often I get "Proxy temporarily disabled. The proxy has been disabled due to connectivity failure" for unknown reasons, no matter which proxy is being used. And that is the most annoying issue.

Many thanks for updating the add-on, Moxie!! However, there are three issues I found both in FF v. 3 and v. 4 and would like to report:

- "The request you issued is not authorized for GoogleSharing. Perhaps you need to upgrade your GoogleSharing Addon?" - this message I get every time I try to TinEye an image straight from Google image search results.

- The status in its short state remains green after GS at least when it is placed on Navigation Toolbar. By the way, I think it would be nice to use the logo instead of plain text for the status.

- Too often I get "Proxy temporarily disabled. The proxy has been disabled due to connectivity failure" for unknown reasons, no matter which proxy is being used. And that is the most annoying issue.

Otherwise it works perfectly!

Great concept but slow and ugly Rated 4 out of 5 stars

The concept is excellent. However the proxy is often very slow or unusable. Perhaps another proxy server could be provided for people willing to pay for it? For a reasonably fast and reliable service I think there would be many people such as myself willing to pay a minimal subscription fee.

Also the UI needs work: Should be an icon instead of text, and it is added to the add-on bar every time Firefox starts instead of just when it is installed.

I like the promise of this add-on very much, but I have had to disable it because it makes the add-on bar pop up all the time. There is no way of disabling the add-on bar when googlesharing is enabled!

There's a modified version that works with FF4 over at GitHub.

Steps to get a working FF4 dersion:
1. Download this version and save it to your disk
2. Download the source of the FF4 version @GitHub
https://github.com/roadrunner2/GoogleSharing
3. Extract the downloaded zip and go into the "firefox" folder
4. Open the FF3 .xpi file you've downloaded in Step 1 with WinRAR
5. Mark everything in the "firefox" folder (Step 3) and drag it over to the WinRAR window (Step 4)
6. Confirm the "overwrite" message and close WinRAR
7. Now install this updated Add-on into FF4 (Drag & Drop the .xpi into your FF window)

I'm using roadrunner2's version for a while now and it works fine.
Hope this helps until we get an "official" update.

A most useful add-on, worth to be used and even supported with a donation. Only problem: A Firefox 4 version is desperately needed!

how to make compatible with 4.x Rated 5 out of 5 stars

open dir:
D:\Users\User_name\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\something_xdsf_whatever.default\extensions
now you are in main extension dir
now open extension with is not working in FF 4.x (directory)
and then open in notepad file install.rdf
and look for section:

<!-- Target Application this extension can install into,
with minimum and maximum supported versions. -->
<em:targetApplication>
<Description>
<em:id>{ec8030f7-c20a-464f-9b0e-13a3a9e97384}</em:id>
<em:minVersion>3.0</em:minVersion>
<em:maxVersion>5.6.*</em:maxVersion>

you need to change <em:maxVersion>3.6.*</em:maxVersion> to e.x. <em:maxVersion>5.6.*</em:maxVersion>
like me - all extentions are working fine

PLEASE UPDATE! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Please update this essential add-on to work with Firefox 4, no one should use Google without it.

I cannot and WILL NOT download 4.0 until this Add-On is upgraded! I love Google searches, but they can burn for their spying! My regards to the developer!

Needs FF4 update! Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Googlesharing was uploaded to GitHub (https://github.com/DisruptiveStudies/GoogleSharing) in early Dec. '10, so that's a good sign! Maybe someone else will start contributing code. (I haven't a clue how, unfortunately.) Version 0.20 doesn't work with Firefox 4(b11) though. :-( It just puts "Loading..." in the Add-on bar, loses the proxy, and won't allow a new one to be added.

has Google taken counter-measures? Rated 5 out of 5 stars

if all traffic/requests reach GOOGLE from the GOOGLESHARING.NETproxy.....

...maybe all that's needed are more proxies ?!? EFF.ORG, the Pirate Party and others could be allies...

Urgent Update Needed! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Great App and Urgently needed! Obviously Google doesn't want you (or everyone) to use this app, so they change stuff around. Thus this app need an urgent and more frequent updates. PLEASE FIX!!

From useful to useless Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I would like to add my voice to those for whom GS stopped working. I successfully used it for several months but since around October 1, I get the following using FF v.3.6.10: "The connection was reset. The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading" whenever I attempt to use Google Search. I sent an email to the developer - who never responded.

Glad to see the shorter logo option and Google Translate bug fixed! I'm very surprised that this add-on isn't more popular. Excellent work!

EDIT: Sorry. I thought there was a big problem with the referrer being sent to the receiving site. Apparently that isn't an issue though, as Google blocks the sent referrer when you use SSL. (See https://encrypted.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=what%27s+my+referer+test) It does *not* though if you use the regular search (like GImages, which has no SSL version. See this search: http://tinyurl.com/2cudpc7) As a future possible fix for non-SSL, I would suggest GS proxy connections to *and* from Google.
