Blocks access to Google Rated 1 out of 5 stars

It blocks my access to Google pages, from Gmail to Google searches.

SSL problems Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Worked fine from Firefox 6 till now. But ever since I upgraded to FireFox 13, GoogleSharing is not working unless I disable the " Upgrade to SSL whenever possible" option. Can you pls look into this? Everything else is fine. Hope the new release will solve this problem. Is it possible to provide more proxies from googlesharing.net ?

Froze FF 11.0 Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I love this idea but I'm having difficulty using it.
Google must be hitting back because once I installed this the FF 11.0 Browser would freeze almost immediately.
I had to disable it, then FF worked again.

Please

contact us in support - there should be absolutely no issues like this. Google use should be 100% easy and transparent. support at abine.com or visit our site for live chat. thanks!

Yeah, what KimuraOkagawa on December 2, 2011 said. Also not compat with ver 9.0.1, otherwise a good idea.

captcha problem Rated 3 out of 5 stars

@WhoeverIam 3000: you could give gs.netsend.nl a try, it's not as popular as proxy.googlesharing.net and I haven't seen a captcha yet.

Great idea but with implementation issues Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Seems Google has fought back. Now a captcha page usually appears after several queries made. This disrupts the usability of the addon.

Good idea, a few problems in implementation Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Previously, I gave this add-on five stars because it solves a common problem (keeping Google from knowing who you are, without having to use Tor which Google seems to have blacklisted). However, I have to drop that to four stars because there's a fairly annoying problem with how it does it. The normal Google cookie is replaced by a randomized GS version, but local search settings are NOT preserved. Things like how many results per page, what layout of Google Image Search to use (it keeps switching from the "everything on one page" to "20 results per page, you have to keep clicking to see more"), and most annoyingly of all, it won't let me disable Google Instant!

If Moxie ever gets around to making a true update of the add-on (besides the versionbump that others have already done), I would really like to have a second options menu that lets me choose what search settings I want (and have it apply to all proxy addresses, rather than setting them individually).

This user has a previous review of this add-on.

Firefox 9.b

Google was once the best search engine on the Internet now it is total crap… and… Not to mention a major violator of Internet user’s privacy..

Another alternative would be "Bing" (Microsoft)....UUhhnn...I don't thinks so..

Thank-U "GoggleSharing"..

Kimura is Absolutely correct
This add-on should be provide in FF (pre-installed) / with an "opt-in"/ option / if necessary...

I seriously doubt Google would ban FF browser...
Firefox is becoming the number #1 browser. The numbers' of user for IE (Worldwide) is deceiving..

U.S. consumers are still being force to have IE pr-installed in their windows..Removal of "all " IE functions form US Windows versions is impossible... "This is not by choice"...

A special thanks to kuijsten:

The link to gs.netsend web site.. provided version 02.22.1 (EN)...It installed flawlessly (FF 9.b)..Thank-U ...

Can any one supply information of how to eliminate the unwanted "GS" [Short Staus].. Icon... from Addon Toolbar..?...
Toolbar Option is not available...

It is annoying and not needed..?

Note:
9.b FF:
Customize / Drag & Drop >>..does not work for this Icon. It reappears...

Again thank-U

This add-on is still a must... IMO..

Firefox 8.0 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Firefox keeps incrementing their major release numbers. Cannot download xpi as it "does not support" 8.0. I know that's a crock. It worked fine with 7.x, even when Firefox claimed it didn't.

This is used widely Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I believe this is a great idea. Other addons even have the same idea; TrackMeNot is one. Good job (although google doesn't like it; they keep wanting captchas).

maxVersion still set to 5.x ? Rated 2 out of 5 stars

With the help of Add-on Compatibility Reporter 0.9.2 this add-on still works under Fx 7.x, but how long do we have to wait until a /real/ update? In a couple of weeks Fx 8.x will be out...

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

It does indeed work with Add-On Compatibility Reporter 0.9
And the slowness is due to SSL usage (which is pretty slow with google itself, if you try it: it's still on Beta), so for fast searching it should be enough to disable SSL from GoogleSharing options.
Will we have a "normally compatible" with FF6 soon?

Not compatible Rated 1 out of 5 stars

... even with the Add-on Compatibility Reporter 0.9

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

This addon is a great idea - however it really should differentiate google services, as it has some side effects, e.g. google site search will not work for websites, so if you are on a website and wonder why you have no search results, there might be a chance that the webmaster is using google site search and google sharing breaks this. Also with this addon the new google instant searh feature will become incredibly slow, not usable at all, however instant search is a PITA privacywise anyway.

Work-around for FF6 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I have it working in FireFox 6 - install the Add-on Compatibility Reporter 0.8.7 and re-launch.

Great program! Thanks!

Nice - but would like the option to choose which services to proxy (search, maps, gmail,...)

Reasoning - Google knows my email anyway so no benefit to proxying it and the only effect of proxying is that it runs slower. Searches, maps etc on the other hand........

Please update this add-on for Firefox 6. Don't like to be "boxed" by Google's snooping algorithms...

Nice and useful add-on.
One star less for often slow proxy access.

How about a version that is compatible with Firefox 6.0?

Privacy laws should include internet w/an opt-in basis to waive privacy, and not the other way around. This tool does exactly that! The most important basis for this tool is compromising privacy is not breached. As an added attraction, no more location related searches or, ads. This add-on is perfect in its' functionality to do just as it says it will do!
