"Right Click" and there you go... Rated 5 out of 5 stars

One of the best addons.

the best image search add on

It's OK - but... Rated 3 out of 5 stars

...has a tendency to "discover" multiple re-posts of an image in tumblr.com and hardly ever finds the original image.
I really want to find the owner of an image (in order to seek permission to use) - not just a stream of instances where the owner is not acknowledged.
The site of whoever first put an image on the web must be out there in the Google database somewhere!

Works as intended on publicly available graphics.

Indispensible Rated 5 out of 5 stars

As a compulsive image collector, I use this add-on on nearly every page I visit.

Thanks Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Google has really out done themselves in this update of search by image. it really makes it easier for me to find them, upload mine and protect them.
Again, Thanks

Decent, but other version of the same addon feature is better Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Stopped working after a recent update. Makes Google complain about the URL being too big for it to process on most pictures.
Also had to manually view image then "search by image for Google" for it to work on a lot of sites, or else it would pick another hidden element and image search that instead.

Where TinEye fails, Google Search By Image works, i have used this to catch 100s of logo plagiarism cases on design contest and logo and crowdsourcing sites. Without this function you would not be able to find out who is faking their profile with a fake profile pic. Great thing, i probably search more by image than by words.

Works Perfectly Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I use this all the time. Mostly to search for images found on Facebook which I feel are questionable. Typically hoax-related photos. This add-on finds photos most of time and I'm able to see if the claims attached to them are verifiable.

Broken Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Needs fixing. It always seems to search for the very first image on the page rather than the one you click.

thank you, just fixed!

More like a two click search. Rated 3 out of 5 stars

This addon works however it's not a simple one click Image search. If you want to search for an image that isn't the background image on a page you have to first select "view image" on the right click menu. On the new page with just the image you can then perform the one-click reverse image search. If the author could somehow combine those two commands it would make this much more useable and acceptable. It would be worth the 5 stars if this can be done.

Doesn't work as expected. I did exactly what another reviewer mentioned (before having read his review) I searched on the Firefox logo at the top of this page. It's very common and should have returned hundreds of results. Found none! It does find background images though, which does have some (very limited) use for me.

I am on a Mac

Simply...doesn't work (properly) Rated 1 out of 5 stars

SHORT VERSION:
See that little round firefox logo at the top-left of this page?
Try out this feature on it.
Didn't search for the firefox logo image, did it?
Try it on another page. ANY page...

LONG VERSION:
I was excited to see this add-on, as the feature of right-clicking an image and clicking on an option would be a 2-click reverse image search, but...

It just doesn't work...correctly.

Can you right-click an image, select "Search Image on Google", and get a new tab that opens to Google's results of a reverse image search?

Yes...technically.

But it *ONLY* seems to select BACKGROUND images, which, 99 times out of 100, is NOT the image you were looking for. The only time I can think of that an image you'd want would be coded in to the page as a *background* image, is if they are trying to KEEP you from downloading it (like pictures on Flickr or DeviantArt, where the artist has *specifically chosen* to make the image unavailable for download).

So really, the way that this functions right now, it can *ONLY* be used UN-ethically, which I don't think was the author's intent.

Doesn't work Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I've used TinEye for a long time. But google's reverse search gives of course a lot more results. I was hoping to use this addon.
Problem is it doesn't seem very competent at detecting layers in pages. Right-clicking the addon icon on this page for instance (https://static-ssl-cdn.addons.mozilla.net/en-US/firefox/images/addon_icon/326822-64.png?modified=1326978449) will instead search for the background (https://static.addons.mozilla.net/media/img/zamboni/global/bg-header.png).
And that was just the first image i tried with this addon.
Needs work!
