This plugin is very cool, does exactly what it says on the tin. Doesn't always pick up the correct icon however, otherwise I would've given it 5 stars!

For those who can't get it to work in newer versions of Firefox just unzip the installer (it's just a zip file), change the max version in install.rdf and zip it back up again. Got it working with no problems in Firefox 4 beta!

Make the visibility better in the Google result page, make it more beautiful and more informative too. Must-have.

Yes this add on should definitely be updated to the latest Firefox.

Please update support for the latest firefox.
If you use firefox with your own addon, its easy to know when a new version comes out and you need to add support :)

Cool!

It seems Google should build this idea into their pages. =)

v1.10 Bug Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Google Icon is great, but I don't see anywhere else to report a bug:

So, this extension errors out on:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=urchin+5+export&btnG=Search

Specifically, for the search result:
www.google.com/support/urchin45/bin/answer.py?answer=28434&topic=7387

Otherwise, this extension IS awesome. It makes scanning Google result pages for sites I recognize and trust really fast and easy.

Broken by Google SearchWiki Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Google is rolling out a new feature that allows signed in users to annotate and customize search results. Unfortunately, it breaks this extension. The problem is, they changed the class of the LI element from 'g' to 'g w0'.

I couldn't find a bug reporting address. However, it's simple enough to fix your own copy of the add-on.

Search for the file googleicon.js below your Firefox profile. You should find it at extensions/{48ff37f0-d672-11db-8314-0800200c9a66}/chrome/content/googleicon.js.

Line 24 should read var results = doc.evaluate("//*[@class='g']//a[@class='l']", doc, null, XPathResult.ORDERED_NODE_SNAPSHOT_TYPE, null );

This is the line that scans for the Google search results. Change it to:
var results = doc.evaluate("//*[starts-with(@class, 'g')]//a[@class='l']", doc, null, XPathResult.ORDERED_NODE_SNAPSHOT_TYPE, null );

Then restart Firefox, and the extension should once again work, whether or not you are signed in to Google.

I know I shouldn’t report a bug here, but I can’t find any other way to comment... the developer’s site has no contact link, waaah.

Something changed on Google’s end (I’d presume), and now all favicons in search results are the default Google icon or nothing. At least, this is how it looks for me (on two different computers, though with nearly identical Firefox installations).

This is a great extension, as it adds visual interest and easily distinguishes among otherwise bland and continuous search results. I hope this bug can be fixed, soon!
