Still works..if you refresh the page. I liked this plugin. Call me fidgety but I really liked how all available options were put right in front of you instead of pressing a button then scroll down to find the video resolution you wanted. Perhaps someone else can continue maintenance. Anyway, thanks for the plugin. Take care.
Hello, I am sorry to read that this plug-in (1.6.5) is no longer maintained. I installed it last year (if I remember right) and it worked flawlessly every time I needed it. Just one question, if you mind answering me: if an Youtube video is available for online watching in different resolutions, the moment that I decide to download that video, how do I select in which resolution to download it? Thank you very much!
I don't know why this is so highly rated. It adds the appropriate download links to the Youtube page, but none of them work.
It is so highly rated because it used to work. However, it seems that YouTube has changed the workings of its page again, and because of that this plugin is no longer working.I strongly suggest you to try 1-Click YouTube Video Downloader instead:
I am using Windows 7 and the download icon does not appear on my add-on toolbar
This addon has no toolbar icon. It *should* show the download links near the bottom of the video, beside the place where YouTube shows the number of views. If it doesn't, please report the problem.
Thank you very much for the new Version 1.6.5. It works perfect now. Cheers Endor
Thanks for keeping this wonderful addon going.
One minor problem is that the .3GP files are actually 360p .FLV. I couldn't get them to work in Winamp using FFDShow codecs until the file extension was changed to .flv. The VLC player recognizes the error and fixes it on its own.
I'm very sorry to say, but this great extension does not works for me any more.. :(
When i attempt to make a download, i'm getting the following error message in a
Error trying to extract video URL!
TypeError: XMLHttpRequest is not a function
Clicking ok on this message, it prompts me for the download location (as usual),
but when i click "Save", nothing is downloaded..
Some times, in download manager i see the file i attempted to download, having a size of 0.
(v1.6.1, Firefox 16, Windows 7)
Hi Vítor, many thanks for your fast reaction to resolve the problem and also for
your time to maintain this excellent small piece of software..! Keep walking..
Yes, i can confirm that v1.6.2 does works..! :) :) :)
That's bad. It's probably due to some change in recent versions of Firefox. I'll try to check this soon. Thanks for reporting!
UPDATE: Could you try version 1.6.2 and tell me if the problem is solved? You can get it from here:
Thanks in advance!
It works!! Thanks!!
This YouTube downloader has always been my favorite. The others receiving rave reviews I have tried - and deleted. Thank you so much for keeping it alive. Just like that TV Infomercial byline: "Just set it and forget it". Wonderful!
This is the easiest way to download videos from YouTube without anything extra. Click which format and it takes you directly to a save dialogue. Only wish there was a button for MP3 conversion also, would make it an all inclusive add-on!
Thanks for reviving this great extension!
This seems to be the only simple youtube downloader that actually works right now, but it still does not seem to have a link for the high-def versions of videos which is all I'd really want/need to use it for. Please provide a link for downloading the "HD" version.
It used to have an "HD" link for videos that supported it, but it stopped working after some of YouTube's page format changes. I will try to fix this when I have some free time (hopefully in the next two weeks, but I can't promise anything). Thanks for the feedback!
Edit: problem fixed in 1.5.6 (or so I hope). Can you test it?
I said this before in a review and got no response, and your home page isn't working, so I'm just going to write it again and hope that you see it this time: The add-on works great, no complaints there, but the buttons block out a small area of the screen, like so:
Sorry for not answering. I will try to fix this when I have some free time. I can't promise anything, but I think I will be able to see this in the next two weeks. Thanks for the feedback!
Click "VIEW ALL VERSIONS" at the bottom of the page.
Updated on August 4th 2011, with the new Youtube code. It works fine...
* Don't listen to blackmail coming from sponsored competitors, this add-on is clean, non-intrusive and no malware...
YouTube changed its page format again. The new version (1.5.5) has been fixed to handle the new format. It still does not show up in the addon's main page (it has to be reviewed by Mozilla), but you can get it by clicking "View all versions" at the bottom of the page.
But then - for...'some reason' (which I don't know), it's builder stopped updating it. True, with the constant revisions to YouTube, it can be a huge headache to do. It was left hanging - with no info - people continued to download it, but found it just didn't work.It was a sad day. Finally, someone (Vítor De Araújo), picked up the ball, and brought 1-Click up to 2011, and let me tell you; if you've never used 1-Click, it was/IS the SIMPLEST YouTube downloader bar NONE. To those of you, like me, who are familiar with 1-Click - breathe a sigh of relief.
So, to Victor - a humble thanks!
Thanks very much. Since the old version stopped working, I've been using Easy YouTube Video Downloader, but it doesn't have the 3GP option. Your work is greatly appreciated.
Please excuse me; I had given this a 1-star rating by mistake and corrected it, but the "statistics" window apparently hasn't noticed that I've edited my "stars" rating.
Very good apps!Keep going!
