If the add-on could be used with local bookmarks not logged in to Google it was okay or even excellent (with synchronisation). But only as a must-have Google online tool, even prohibitting to store local Firefox bookmarks (wen not looged in to Google) I can't find it acceptable. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.9.8).
Gmarks may cause firefox to hang! Rated 2 out of 5 stars
I have been using Gmarks for quite some time, but unfortunately, lately it makes both, firefox 2.0.14 and 3.0b5 hang!
I isolated this extension to be the source of the problem by turning off all other extensions, and then running each one separately to re-create the problem.
I am writing this note not to criticize the extension (love the extension), but in order to warn others, and to bring this issue to the author's attention.
Should be fixed
That problem should be fixed in 0.9.9
It was an issue with those who had GMarks import your starred items from Google Reader (which is off by default)

I used Gmarks for months with Firefox 2 and be in no doubt, it stands head and shoulders above the rest. However, Firefox 3 has now hit Beta 5 and rumours are that it will be released in May. The many users already switching over desperately need this plugin to be ported over. If it doesn't happen, somebody will write a better plugin, and Gmarks will become obsolete. That would be a shame. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.9.7.3).
great but want a better one Rated 4 out of 5 stars
the addon is great ...
but then again i have a problem.
the "quick add book mark" and " add book mark" icons
are eye sores. ... those old icons used to denote files ......
why shouldn't the developer change those icons with better ones?

Excellent addon, although it doesn't handle "file://///server/share/file.html" bookmarks properly. The url gets changed to "about:blank" for me.This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.9.7.3).

This is the best google bookmarks add on out there, thanks for all the work that went into making it!This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.9.7.3).
A few reasons why this add-on is great Rated 5 out of 5 stars
1. Having Google as the back-end seems safer than other hosts that could be off-line.
2. If the extension stops working for whatever reason, using the Google Toolbar will still allow me to access my bookmarks.
2. Sub-labels: I used this extension for a long time without knowing I could nest labels. It's just great.
3. Adding a new bookmark to a nested label is possible without having to browse through the tree. Just start typing enough letters and select from the popup window.
4. Searching for bookmarks with home-home is very quick.
5. The author keeps updating it for the newest betas.
Probably I'm missing some stuff. For me, this ext. turned to be more essential than, say.. adblock+.
Very good work.

This is an excellent add on. Allows easy replacement of local bookmarks with Google bookmarks, including simple management. Nearly perfect. Has a few problems with refreshing properly when managing bookmarks. But could be an issue using with Firefox 3 Beta 2This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.9.7.3).

A new reason to use Firefox Rated 5 out of 5 stars
The only reason that I never used Firefox before was because I couldn't get to my Google bookmarks. Thanks to your add-on, it's like a whole new internet. ThanksThis review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.9.7.3).

Had a UI issue with GMarks on my Mac. John's support was prompt, courteous and resolved my issue toot-sweet! Highly recommended for all of us cross platform, cross browser folks. Thank you John for all of your efforts. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.9.7.2).
Nice Plugin, but One Demand Rated 4 out of 5 stars
Thanks for this gr8 Plug in.
Its become my favorite plug in now.
I want a functionality of tagging the sidebar window, just like Visual
Studio Sidebar's has.
By which the window can be automatically hides when you clicks on
browser page, but when you tag the window i.e. sidebar window it will
remain open irrespective of where the mouse focus is. something like
pin functionality. You can see this functionality in del.icio.us
Bookmark Plug in. I just started learning the XUL, and the more I
learn, the more I love this Development Technology :)
Thanks Again for this Gr8 Plug in.
almost perfect!! just a few details Rated 4 out of 5 stars
it's excellent, and very well integrated with firefox. i installed 0.9.7.1 version today. i noted 2 things: the "Add Gmark" option has no icon , and the second, when this dialog opens, it's not wide enough, and some text and the buttons are not visibles (i cant resize that window). also, i think the "both" select could be configurable. but the rest is perfect! i hope this helps improve this excellent tool! im using es-AR locales. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.9.7.1).
Great add-on... thanks! Rated 4 out of 5 stars
This add-on is great: I've been looking for a way to access my bookmarks from anywhere in the world, yet sort them into folders (Note: Google bookmarks uses broadly equivalent "labels")!
I love the integration: for example, the organiser lists the bookmarks in a manner similar to Firefox's own bookmark manager.
With GMarks 0.9.7.1, it even allows you to save your login details under the Firefox master password - very convenient!
Beware of bugs Rated 2 out of 5 stars
Hi, like the the idea of GMarks so I am sorry to say that there is some crap in it. I used GMarks (the march release) for a while and it seemed to work - I could go to my Google Bookamrks and have a look at what I stored there. But since last month, it seems, no boookmarks have been saved at all. It is like a black hole - you click on \"save to GMarks\" and it seems it is saving (at least no error comes out) but when you go to Google Bookmarks there is nothing there. Zero. Niente. Nought. They disappear somewhere en route. So I lost one month of bookmarks. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.9.6.2).
The March version does have a problem saving bookmarks to Google, however I have since updated it to work again. The bug occurred when Google made a change in how it handles the update bookmark api calls. It was fixed within 2 days... Adding bookmarks works fine for me now. If you're going to write a bad review, at least make sure you are using the latest version. And if you are using the latest version, I would very much appreciate it if you would either email me or post to the google group so it can be fixed. Complaining here does not give me enough information to fix the problem.
