Ghostery is very awesome because I can block annoying adds and things like that.
Packed with options, much more efficient and configurable since when it was first created. Impressed!
want to protect privacy without any compromise. then this is the best addon.
it blocks everything(including ads) and is customizable.
my browser just got faster when i installed this addon. it significantly improve page load perfomance on firefox.
The issue was resolved by reinstalling the addon.
State of the art for protect your privacy without compromise web surfing in a considerable way. If you decide what to want to release about your web-story this is the app for you.
Very useful and unobtrusive. Combined with No Script, FlashBlock and AdBlock Plus, one can enjoy surfing with less fear and paranoia. These are small things we can do to protect the privacy of our data!
I love this plugin. It is easy to use and it works well.
the like the Whitelist option for sites I know I can trust.
Great addon, but i was forced to remove it and use Disconnect instead, for as long as i used Ghostery there was a bug where it did not scan the page and didnt block anything, i never really knew why or how but it was greyed out and not blocking until i refreshed the page
Все фотографии используемые на других сайтах из facebook удаляются, было бы неплохо, чтобы вы имели свой кэширующий сервер и показывали эти фото. Таким образом и приватность сохранится и фото будут.
Being that I've been using this for several years now, I should put some due diligence in and post a review.
I've tried a few of the different addons that block trackers, modules and other trash that companies use to monetize their traffic these days.
What's all that lead to? Well, it leads to you consuming more bandwidth and generating more traffic. A lot of the trash involves your browser going out to here, there and everywhere to run additional code, download additional code, and just consume resources that will, 99 times out of 100, only benefit the site/company you're visiting.
Consider this addon the consumer response to the claims that web-oriented businesses must track everything, everywhere at all times. Take your devices back, you wonder why a few hours of browsing with Firefox has your browser pegged at near a gigabyte of ram consumption, this will help.
As a sidebar, some companies, albeit greedy ones, will nest different trash within other trash. Sites like that will not function correctly using Ghostery... if for some reason you still need that site in your life, you can manually enable individual trash/ad/tracking/etc packages till the site plays nicely with firefox. Or you can temporarily disable blockage till you get what you need. You can also whitelist sites which ghostery won't touch but will continue to block everything else requested.
And in addition to trash blockery, this addon will also do away with flash (as well as microsoft's answer to flash, whatever its called) cookies on exit if the option is enabled.
If I had to find or indicate a problem with Ghostery, after this many years I'm hard-pressed to do as such. The only thing that's odd, I wouldn't even consider it a problem per-say, but the way that some of these websites look with the trash blocked, some of the sites I frequent, there isn't much left to see once all their profiteering efforts are suppressed. It would be nice if Ghostery could develop an algorithm that would replace blocked elements with... blank elements or maybe ghostery elements (much in the way Ghostery blocks the social media buttons, but still displays a Ghostery version of where they are located in the layout), that allow visited sites more of an ability to keep their appearance.
A new tracker was revealed today (by Ghostery). I have them all automatically blocked. Here's the information available for this Tracker that wants all your browsing habits and any personal information it can glean:
About Us: http://
Industry Affiliations: None
Data Retention: Undisclosed
Privacy contact URL: Not found
And they wonder why we block them!
Very good, at last I've got rid of all annoying youtube ads. It is fantastic.
It is very easy to use. You can see list of sites (and their types like "ads", "analytics", "social") that track you and you can select ones that you want to block. Great.
I hope Facebook don´'t buy it.
Love it so far, gr8 tool!
This is a great application, and I would like to thank the developers for being so thorough. Also, I would like to thank them for access to the information on who is tracking us. Great Job Folks, keep up the Much Needed work in this area. Also, the Behavioral tracking/pushing Is so very relavent to a consumers security, I hope you expand your development in this area. Can't say enough about your product, I'm also using Privacy Badger just to double check things, so far, not a single instance it's found that you haven't.
Good Luck & Stay safe.
Great, I love it! How about adding a block option to unwanted bing translations in twitter? :-)
Amazing tool that gets installed every time I touch a new computer or browser. I've only had a couple instances where I need to unblock or whitelist something.
erste Eindruck ist nicht schlecht.Leicht zu bedienen und effektiv.
Ist ganz einfach nur sehr gut, und nützlich .
i couldn't deal with the internet without ghostery.
the biggest reason i use this add-on is to block those annoying youtube ads wasting hours of my time on hundreds of things i'm absolutely uninterested in.
perfect privacy controller
Good add-on :)
