also, the wasd keys don't smooth scroll while the arrow keys can.
the addon idea is great, i was wondering about the possibility to scroll with wasd at times and the default key bindings are very well set
A brillant idea. However, in some site, input and typing does not unactivate keyboard shortcut. Hence, could you add : - configurable shortcut (to add a hot key before ALL the shortcuts) - an ESC keybord to unactivate temporarily the shortcuts.
This is the coolest add-on I've seen in a real long time. Who uses the arrow keys anyways? And your left hand just naturally sits right there on the keyboard, so it's extremely functional.
The only issue I've experienced so far is the focus sometimes gets switched to something else, so I'll be pressing the S key to move down a page, only to be brought back up to the top again to a refocused search bar with 'ssssss' typed into it.
Kinda annoying (and it even happens on FF's add-on page) but a fix for that, and perhaps some extra key binding options and it's perfect.
Please, please, add an option for us to tweak the bindings! This addon is awesome, but the foreigner I am uses a French keyboard, so the W and Z are inverted, and so are the A and Q.Your choice of shortcuts suits me, but without the option to change these two sets, I find myself switching between layouts everytime I want to browse a page / type something... :/Will be 5 stars as soon as I get that, because that's my only complaint. Your addon rocks. :3
Really cannot live without this addon. One of the best things is that i can use my Belkin N52TE and Logitech G13 for surfing. Even just picking up the basic keybindings is plenty enough to speed up average browsing by leaps and bounds.
Without proper key customization and dis/enable keys its not worth it. I use Focus keyboard(it's not perfect itself), so this isn't usable for me. Maybe next version could get some more creative like assigning alpha number keys to tabs and having alternative binding slots(or a archive of actions and shortcuts). Anyway WASD should only scroll, shift should be used for paging(think sprint/dodge) in correcponding direction, kinda what flick gestures do in Grab and Drag with mouse(bonus points if you can make it go diagonally). Shift+Q/E for tab switching(also having a button switching to previously used tab would be kewl), ~ for address bar (lol), G for search(XD) and maybe V+W/S to change zoom of page(default ctrl+[+]/[-]) and b to reset zoom. After youre done with that, I will gladly sacrifice Focus Keyboard.
Good News! This add-on is editable manually. See the instructions on the Quelitu Guide page. You can add your own key bindings (keybindings) or keyboard shortcuts to Firefox 4 and earlier. See: http://wavesofthefuture.net/computers/quelitu-lubuntu-guide-increase-speed-windows-computer.shtml
