Many problems... Rated 3 out of 5 stars

The idea is great, this addon could do exactly what I want, but :
- Mouse detection on the top of the screen doesn't work in maximized window (very very annoying)
- When it's uninstalled, Firefox menus don't hide anymore in fullscreen.

Config : Win 8.1, Firefox 39

Edit after a little persistence :

- To correct fullscreen when the add-on is removed :
(thanks to Trignite below https://addons.mozilla.org/fr/firefox/addon/fullscreen-toolbar-hover/reviews/707082/)
Go to "about:config", look for "browser.fullscreen.autohide" and set it to "true"

- To avoid the problem I had with the mouse detection, in advanced options, never select default, keep the second parameter checked. Otherwise, uninstall and re-install the add-on.

Toolbar Autohide also hides the Status-4-Evar toolbar with no way to unhide it. So, I guess it's not compatible with that extension.

Other reviews scared me, but it's working and it's amazing. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

5 Stars (after tweaks)

I have it working perfectly over here, Windows 8.1 (works great Fullscreen and works great Windowed). Required some settings tweaks to get it right (see below).

I read some other reviews and almost didn't install it. But since I knew I would be reformatting my PC soon, I figured I would give it a shot and if it broke something I would be ok with that.

Well it didn't break anything, and I'm happy to say, that after spending about 15 minutes tweaking the settings in it's options, I have it working exactly how I want it and it's amazing.

At first, I wasn't sure if I would be able to tweak it well enough to my liking, but I am so, so, so happy right now. Thank you very much to this developer, this tool will change my daily life with a small, but very needed convenience, thank you very much.

My options:

In General, first three boxes checked, then "transition" set to none. Advanced is set to "default" and everything else is unchecked. Toolbars is set to normal for all 3. Events is set to Never, everything else is unchecked Except for "tab selected" which is enabled and I turned down the MS to 100. Finally in style, set it to Transparent, Customized (leave the value here alone) and turn on Shadow.

Now just play with it and get used to it.

WTF suck ! uninstalling can not fullscreen !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This add-on permanently breaks HTML5 fullscreen even after uninstalling the add-on. Rated 1 out of 5 stars

It took me almost a year to figure out what was causing this and to be bothered fixing it, this issue seems to be in old versions of this add-on aswell. Running the browser in safe mode does not fix this issue where you can still see toolbars in fullscreen after disabling and even removing this.

Three easy steps to break your browser:
1. Make a new profile (optional)
2. Install this add-on
3. Uninstall this add-on

Congratulations you now have permanently broken fullscreen html5

Edit: You can fix this by editing the pref.js file in your profile folder just look for this line:
user_pref("browser.fullscreen.autohide", false);

Delete the line all together or set it to true.

Please fix this issue, It was bothering me so much I almost switched browsers since safe mode etc wasn't fixing it I thought it must of been a problem with firefox itself.

Easy and convenient removal of title clutter Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Life changing I think. This developer has thought of everything. When you are not in Full Screen you get an option to hide the usual tab bar fuss location bar, etc.. and it starts to look yummy. When you go Full Screen, you get an option to remove that there as well. Looks right. Awesome. Congratulations to this developer.

Very very buggy.. Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Very buggy. Adds a black line underneath address bar and pushes everything up. All I wanted to do was auto hide the addon bar but instead ended up with a screwed config, had to reset and remove this addon. :(

Many problems Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Where is the contact email address? maybe also autohide?? Win 7 32 After 5 minutes the fullscreen stays on and can only be removed by Key F11. The Windows autohide for the bottom open programs etc. toolbar is disabled and only works with F11. The control - file, edit etc toolbar is hidden. Reinstalled twice to no effect. Program is a good idea but it is a pain to use.

Almost perfect. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I've used The Fox Only Better and Mozilla Labs' own extension, but this stands head and shoulders above them. I only wish that I could add a delay when showing tabs (delays only work when both the tabs and the navbar are hidden).

Otherwise, bravo, and thank you.

Great, I can use it to make tabbar not go over content in fullscreen, but rather to float above it.

Bally Marvellous! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I should have done this years ago. All I wanted was to restore the old way the F11 (Windows) fullscreen worked before a new version took it away. This does it well - with a couple of setting changes rather than the default - and it's nice to have other options. In case anyone's wondering, clicking on the fullscreen option in a youtube video automatically invokes this, so you can watch videos using the whole screen (and the transport controls auto-hide when mouse not moved, as usual). It also seems to automatically remove the annoying warning message that announced you were now in fullscreen and to hit Escape to come out. Hitting F11 instead will make the youtube page fullscreen, but not the video, which can be useful to see more around it, too. Works on TED videos too, so probably most, but I've not tried it very long yet. The taskbar is used as well - true full screen. As I only have a 10" netbook, the full use of web pages and videos is the dog's pyjamas. Many thanks to the writer, much appreciated!

browser.fullscreen.autohide keep reverting to false (?!)

I need this set to "true" (about-config) and remain that way unless I say else. But it keeps reverting back. I don't see why, because it works better when it remain set to "true"
Otherwise, after a while (5mins, 60mins, or at restart), I loose the ability to select anything on the address-bar/tool-bar/short-cut-bar/etc. I still can select in tabs which tab because my about:config pref is set to *browser.tabs.drawInTitlebar* set true.
Other settings;

*user set*

But this here;
My issue lays there. Both disappear as soon as I hover on them, living only the title-bar (which includes the tabs as my setting set ordered to. Otherwise the tab-bar would also go away like the others)

I have look into most of my addons to see if any conflict and can't find any. The only setting I found is the pref.js of this addon. I've set it and repacked but it does not do any change behaviour.
Am I missing something?

I have had a few other apps that *try* to take care of this *fullscreenautohidething* but... but.

Yours is the ONLY one that gets the job done, appart from the fact that I have to reset every now/then to *browser.fullscreen.autohide;true* while I'm browsing (yeah---> browser.preferences.instantApply;true) lol ;)

Keep that addon alive ;)
Thank You!

***edit*** While I was writing this, I've disable an option in "The Fox, Only Better" addon. I've unchecked "enable slim chrome" (which almost completely renders this addon .... redundant!)

So, still editing....(it has been 2hrs now since edit) and it my setting has remain...?!? first time ever (?!) What can I say.... Everything's going good ;)

Great Extension But Not For Pentadactyl Rated 4 out of 5 stars

It would be useful to allow for not hiding the add-on toolbar so that users of Pentadactyl can still have their bottom bar visible. I understand why it isn't by default since there are likely not many people effected by it. Thanks for the great extension either way.

[Fixed] Really nice, incompatible with Personas now though Rated 5 out of 5 stars

(Feb 1, 2015)
Hi Sepand,

6.6.1 has fixed the issue I reported below. Now the Personas themes are going very well with my tabbar and hidden toolbars! Thank you so much!

Best regards,
(Jan 25, 2015)
Hi Sepand,

Toolbar Autohide add-on of yours is so useful and amazing! I almost can't use Firefox without it!

Since a certain update of Firefox or Toolbar Autohide, I have noticed that Personas themes of Firefox stopped to paint correctly on autohidden toolbars, so the toolbars is becoming transparent ever since. It's a pity that autohidden toolbars cannot have beautiful looks.

Has you been notified of this issue? (I have also sent you a mail on 2014/12/25 so maybe you could check your mail if you want to reply to me)
